They are just making all inclusives more desirable.

I dont cruise to see the islands, I have seen almost all of them, & in the Caribbean in all honesty they are the same.

I cruise to relax on the deck, beach, whatever

At least at an all inclusive I am not being nickel & dimed along the way. Just seems easier.

So instead of delivering to your room the night before and you calmly pack it they chose to make you get up earlier, stand in line, claim it. Then rush to somehow jam it in your luggage for a flight?

Custom lines are so slow, everybody has plenty of time to repack in the line.

Oh good people in line with their luggage open and now you have to trip over them to get around.

And those that scream the loudest are probably the ones that did the smuggling.

People like me who have preferred bottle water brands. I do not like the water you can get from taps on the boat, & I liked getting larger bottles for port days. Though yep everyone who is complaining must have been cheating.

So don't buy the water today, because the price might be raised in the future? Also, what for-profit company do you know sells things at the price they paid for them? When and if they raise the price I will agree with your first and second points.

I am not saying "Dont buy today" what I am saying is they are introducing this at a low price to get people ok with the rule. Once it has settled in, and they cant reverse it the price of these 12 packs will skyrocket.

3 things though

1) While only a few dollars I can easily get 24-35 packs of water for $2.99 to $3.99 normally. Plus its my preferred choice, there are plenty of water companies with extremely disgusting tasting water. Hope thats not Carnival.

2) This is a cash grab not a liquor smuggling issue. A company this size is getting these 12 packs for less then $0.50 per pack

3) Everyone is "So excited" about the new price. You think this will last? Ever seen an airline come into a new city with super cheap fares at the beginning only to have them sky rocket once they are settled? These 12 packs will be triple the price within a year minimum. You are a captive audience, if they charge $9.99 a 12 pack in the future you have no choice.

Honestly I am not sure and will follow this thread. I have seen a question about cancelling the Cheers program after obtaining the DOU and the response was, NO And remember the DOU is only good when you are in the casino and gambling.

They do scan your card with DOU, they bring a $0 receipt for you to sign. I always tip in chips/cash, so its funny to see my S&S bill with a whole mess load of Casino Bar $0 at the end.

I boarded in Miami, and did not get off until Miami before. Its fun.

Sort of. EDL's (and passport cards) may be used at sea ports of entry for both closed loop and open jaw sailings in the Western Hemisphere.

You are correct on that, it has changed as it used to be only land crossings.

You dont need to have a passport to travel a closed loop tour. We just use our drivers license.

I highly doubt this. You need to prove citizenship. The drivers license just proves your identification.

You can NOT cross any border on a drivers licence alone UNLESS its an enhanced drivers licence AND you are crossing LAND borders ONLY. Otherwise its passport or drivers licence/birth certificate for cruises. Passport only for air travel. No copies of anything would be accepted, it would be the same as arriving by airplane from a foreign country you could not just show a picture/copy of your passport. That is why if your passport is lost overseas you are required to go to the consulate/embassy for an emergency temporary passport.

PVP IS GETTING ANNOYING

Every time I go to Carnival's site I get a call in 5 minutes. I may go to the site 2, 3, 4, 5 + times a day sometimes especially if I am researching and EVERY TIME I get a call & immediate email. They have to chill with it, there is a way to do it right, but calling some 9 times in a day is a bit much.

Up until a few months ago it was NEVER like this.

For me,,, it's hit or miss.

Some can play a mean piano, but can't sing.

Some can't play a lick, but sing very well.

Some can do both, but can't interact with the audiance.

 

Find one that can do all three???? You've got a rockin good time all night long.

Ron Pass, the only piano bar entertainer worth seeing. I have tried other times and the assessment above proves very true.

Heck I am platinum and still show up to the port after 2pm even though FTTF is "free" for me.

Priority debarking is not for me either as I self carry off

Priority tendering is not for me since I tend to sleep in/get off later

The platinum line at guest services is nice.

Bottom line of my story is I get it for free and really only use 1 of the 4 main perks of it. Some people like the other 3 perks and want to pay for it which is fine. Better that someone else gets the use of those perks I am not using :) Everyone vacations differently, pay for it, dont pay for it, but in the end does it really matter how others travel?

First of all I could care less if the crew is in the "guest" areas. I would have more fun if they were allowed to gamble too.

With that said I do think it should be a two way street. If they can hang out in the "guest" areas then I should be allowed to hang out in the crew bar, I am just saying. :D I want to have 50 cent beers on board. :)

Why is Carnival doing this? I can only see it as devaluing everyone who spent the time/money to get to platinum

Honestly they really have no rules about it, they may say all that stuff, but they definitely do not enforce it.

Do any of the car rental agencies at Jacksonville airport offer a free shuttle if you rent a car from there location to the cruise port? I am thinking of the same type of arrangement that they have in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, etc.
