Just curious if Carnival shows the MLB All Star game ( and Home Run Derby) on the big screen by the pool. I know they do it in some of the bar areas. We'll be on the Mardi Gras during this time in 2024.

Traveling with a young child. Was wondering if it would be ok to bring our own personal tent to set up on the beach for shade? Size would be no bigger than 6'x6'. Has anybody done this or seen it done?

Works with Android/Google Messages. Google Messages uses WiFi when available so if you have a WiFi plan then you are able to text with others that use Google Messages. This has been available for a quite a while and has worked on our last 3 cruises.

We've signed up for this class on our July 15th cruise on the Celebration. Looking forward to the responses you get.

Booked on the Celebration for July. Cruise price is up $300 pp. Same room category with no onboard credit. Also for this cruise interiors are over $1400 pp.

Given that she only has 3 days left to her Sea Trials i hope this to not be the case. usually they are delayed due to production/construction/supply issues.
Good point. Exactly what I was thinking! As long as the sea trials go smoothly I don't see any reason for a delay.

Looks like Royal followed Carnival. Carnival announced similar requirements last week or a couple weeks ago.

Even though I don't care for Nassau, the Bahamas probably has the clearest water we've been to. I'm actually looking forward to the new port in Freeport. Being man made doesn't bother me.

Hate to hear this. Charleston our closest port. Was hoping to eventually get a new port built in Charleston. Maybe Myrtle Beach or more cruises from Norfolk.
Here's the link:

- My vaccine card has Greg but passport and birth certificate has Gregory. Hoping to not have issues with this.

Can I apply the FCC to an already booked cruise (March 2022) and still receive the $600 OBC? Pretty sure the answer is no but just curious.
-
Noticed they mentioned EXCURSION PLANNING. Guess all excursions will have to be booked through the cruise lines. I can understand this. At least the excursions will have to follow safety protocol.

Here's what the "fine print" says:
All travel involving funds from this credit voucher must be completed within one year from the date of the original booking. Voucher is non-transferable.

We cancelled our Allegiant Flight scheduled for July and received a voucher for a future flight. It says we have to take the flight within 1 year or original booking. We originally booked the flight Nov 2019 and it says we need to fly by Nov 2020. We don't plan on flying by then so we will be out the entire fare. I did come up with an idea: Go ahead and use the voucher to book a flight with no intention of going BUT purchase travel insurance with the ability to cancel for any reason. This way we would only be out for the cost of the insurance instead of the whole fare. Would this work?? Any other suggestions would be appreciated too.

And what will that accomplish?
Maybe limit you to only 2 bottles of "shampoo/conditioner". Also can inspect bottles right on the spot. Do random checks.

Reading that press release hurt my head.
Nothing about that says anything about rum runners. I shampoo bottle will still look like a shampoo bottle in a 3D scan, it can't identify liquid content.
Until they start making you put your shampoo in your carry on.

We were on the Horizon a couple weeks ago and the cornhole was at the Sports Square.

Is the next ship after Horizon supposed to be powered by Liquid Natural Gas (LNG)????
The next ship after the Horizon is a sister ship which will come out in 2019. I don't think it will be LNG. The ones coming out in '20 and '22 are the 180,000 gt which I believe will be the first that are powered by LNG.

We didn't want any noise so we picked room 7247. We had the 6th floor as a buffer so no noise whatsoever. We liked it so much that we booked the same exact room on the Horizon when it sails out of New York in July. Btw this room is a 2 person occupancy.
-
I with you on that. I never even think about using a coffee maker in a hotel room. Who knows whats been in it or how well its been cleaned. Nope.
Good place for roaches to live if the coffee maker hasn't been used in a while. Mmm...roach flavored coffee!!:o

Hope they have the RFP, however I did notice the Horizon will occupy 40 more people than the Vista. Wonder where they got the extra room from??:(
-
Just booked the Horizon for July 11, 2018. Havana Cabana Interior. Had the same room on the Vista and loved it!! First time sailing from New York and can't wait!

Will it feel anticlimactic?
Yeah you better stick with RCL, you won't enjoy Carnival. :D
A cruise is what you make of it. It would have to be pretty bad before I didn't enjoy mine. I'm afraid since you're already questioning the cruise, you will be noticing everything that goes wrong and won't enjoy your cruise.

Much like the keyless entry for my Nissan, just put the controller in my pocket, and I can unlock the car, and start it, without pulling out a key. Very convenient. Place the medallion in your pocket and let it do the work....
Exactly!! That's also how our car works. We love it. As for people worrying about "Big Brother" tracking their every move, are they doing something they shouldn't be doing or at a place they shouldn't be?? Google already tracks our every move on our phone and that doesn't bother us. I think the medallions are a great idea and it's good to see Carnival Corp out front leading this technology.

My bet would be Fort Lauderdale. Got to keep the traffic going to Celebration Key.
