others chimed in already, but I wanted to add that different ships may have different band color. Harmony had purple, whereas Indy had teal colored bands.

The only time I was asked to show mine was in line for the theater performance - for the vaxxed section on deck 4, but it was more like "folks, just making sure you are all lining up for the correct V section - y'all must be fully vaxxed!" There were a couple of teens and pre-teens in line - already vaxxed as well.

Somebody on the cruise mentioned that the staff didn't believe that their tiny 12 yo DD was fully vaxxed. We, on the other hand, have a 5' 10 yo who looks tall enough to be 12+... Well, he wasn't fully vaxxed on that cruise, but he is now!

Are the "bracelets" the rubber ones...or the ribbons (which drag through your food at meals)?

  2. Sorry that I did not state my original question to you all's satisfaction.  To clear things up, we are NOT new to RCCL, and we are almost to the Pinnacle level.  We have never used the Diamond Plus "perk" of a free bag of laundry because all of our cruises have been individual 7-10 day cruises, and/or we always took plenty of clothes.  However, we are planning on going on several back-to-back cruises this year, so I didn't know if the Wash and Fold "perk" was still being offered.

FYI:  Additionally, upon attending some Mix and Mingle meetings a year or two ago, I remembered several people were inquiring about whether it would be feasible to have public use of a few washers and dryers onboard because RCCL frowns on guests using their balconies to dry their clothes.

  3. We have cruised many times on the Oasis class ships, and various times on all of the other RCL ships. However, this will be our first time on a Quantam class ship (going on the Anthem in October). I have tried to find answers to these questions from other posts, but not having much luck or I get conflicting information. Clarification about the Anthem would be wonderful!!

    (1) Is there a charge for the bumper cars, NorthStar, and I-Fly?

    (2) Are there no Headliner Shows or Comedy Club?

    (3) Is there no Coastal Kitchen?

    (4) Is there a Park Cafe--I need my roast beef sandwich fix!! :-)

    (5) Is there no Wipe Out Cafe?

    (6) Where does one get a bite to eat late in the evening (other than for room service)?

    (7) One video I watched from a poster kept mentioning the Diamond Club was different from the Diamond Plus Club? Is there a difference?

**I've read all of the negative and positive opinions. Now...just the facts, please. Thanks everyone!!**

  4. (1) We have been told by various cruisers how easy and/or how how difficult it is to get to the cruise terminal in Bayonne, NJ. We will be flying from Atlanta. What is the best airport to land in? How far is it to the cruise terminal from that airport?

    (2) We usually fly in a day or so ahead of the scheduled cruise, so are there plenty of hotels nearby the terminal?

    (3) If anyone has been on the Canadian/New England/ Fall Foliage cruises, we would love to hear your comments. We know the Caribbean like the backs of our hands, but this would be the first time for a New England cruise.

  5. Yes! I had prepurchased First Night Done Right for $15/pp, but then the guy at 150 Central Park convinced me to buy 3 nights for $85. Did that on the spot. We ate at Giovanni's on night one, 150 Central Park on night 3, and Chops on the last night. All three were EXCELLENT.

We had $825 of OBC from our travel agent so we did not get a drink package- we are strictly 2 drinks a day, maybe 3 if we are really feeling crazy.

Trellis Bar in Central Park was our favorite, such great ambiance...but that was the one and only place onboard where we encountered aloof and disinterested bar staff. It was empty, on two nights we took a table and waited for a waiter. They were behind the bar, wiping down glasses and chatting with each other and basically doing anything other than making eye contact or asking if we wanted to order. Husband finally got up, walked the step to the bar, and STILL wasn't acknowledged. (Again, only guests there!!!) But we went back because we are gluttons for punishment, AND that spot is just lovely.

All other bartenders we encountered other than there were good.

How did you get $825.00 OBC from a travel agent????????????????

  6. We have always gotten a Coke package, but when I try to add one to our upcoming cruise on the Harmony, the price is considerably higher than what we have paid just two months ago. Is that because it is on the Harmony or because it it over New Years Eve? They used to have discounts if you purchased online. Also one place says it is $8.00 per day per adult, but when you click on it, it calculates it as $8.50 per day! Anybody else have this issue?
