  1. It is a tradition for me to order Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for sailaway. Now I am concerned that we won't be able to get any Champagne until we get out to international waters because of the restrictions in Galveston. Has anyone had issues or can I bring on a bottle of Champagne? I believe we are allowed 2 bottles of wine to bring on board, I assume Champagne qualifies.

    Thanks!

    From experience.

Bring your own Champagne, but go ahead and order strawberries.

The will not deliver Champagne while in Galveston.

We plan to do this on our May cruise.

    Enjoy the cruise.

  2. Thanks Norris for doing these fun reviews. I love your point of view and the "tongue in cheek" phrases, that is what you mean to do, right?

Will be watching and reading as you go along. Have not sailed Princess but that doesn't keep me from enjoying your views.

We don't have anything planned to sail until May 17th, so you just keep me anxious for the open sea.

    continue.....please........

  3. This is my September 5th 2010 cruise.

It is very sad and was a difficult time for me as I scattered my former wife, Carol's, ashes at sea from the Freedom.

As far as I know, the photos are still all there.

Jim, your review is still out there and the photos too. I have it bookmarked along with some of your other reviews.

We are all enjoying and following along with great interest on this Lyric experience.

Thanks for the time you spend sharing the cruise with all of us.

    Enjoy it all.

  4. Norris, all of these pics in Rome remind me of the walking, walking, walking we did to see the sites on one of the 3 days we were there.

We did not have a guide to tell us what we saw so this is so great.

On to the Vatican. We were also there on a holiday so all of Italy was in there with us.

We too would like to go back, we had so much more to see.

Thanks for sharing. Love to travel with you.

  5. Norris,

Just had to jump in here and tell you an important music note.

Houston Symphony has a new conductor, Andres Orozco-Estrada from Columbia, trained in Vienna.

Very energetic, great musicality and you should make a trip to Houston to see our symphony with the new conductor.

Check him out on Google and the Houston Symphony page.

Had no idea of any way to chat with you about him but hoped you were checking this thread on the Princess page.

If I had your email I could tell you more about the schedule for 2014.

Come back to Texas and see what great things we have to offer.

  6. Even though we might not see this thread in the front page, I have subscribed so will watch to see if anything new is posted.

I want to thank everyone for the interest and news for the past 2 1/2 years we have been watching. I certainly agree with DM as to the thoughts and views of us all during this time.

I appreciate the pictures from the last 2 days.

We will all still be watching with interest for any news of the dismantling of this ship over the next 2 years.

    Thanks to everyone.
