  1. Thanks  Cruiseej for the information with pics above.  I just bought a version of this on Amazon for about $12.  We just returned from the Quest and the outlets/ports are located in 4 places:  2 USB ports on one side of the bed.  One US plug in the wet bar itself, and one on the floor between the TV and the table.  There is a Euro outlet in the "makeup" area (sitting area with mirror) just outside the bathroom.  There also may be a Euro plug next the the US one in the bar area.  My wife has 3 devices to charge and I have one...this device will work perfectly for her so she does not have to spread her stuff around the room.  Also note, if you have a Euro adapter plug that allows you plug in your US plugs for PC, phones, tablets and the like then you can also use the existing Euro sockets for these.  Do not use them for things like hair dryers however.

  2. We will be cruising with Seabourn on the Quest in May.  Our plan is to try in-cabin dining on our anniversary.  We have never done this before.  For those of you that have, can you provide some insight into the food options (can you order off any menu?), how the food is served (all at once or in courses), if you can also order wine/cocktails...Is your room steward your waiter as well?

I appreciate your insight/advice in advance!

I've been trying to log into my Seabourn account several times over the past several hours, and each time, in multiple browsers, I get an error:

"Access Denied. You don't have permission to access "http://aem-stage2.seabourn.com/en_US/log-in/sso-log-in.html?" on this server.

Are others seeing this, too, or is it just something with my computer?

(Hopefully by me posting this, the server will magically come back online to prove me wrong! 😉)

Still down for me...but if you click on booked guests and then click on my account it will take you there

  4. Our final payment for a Mid/Late June cruise in the Norwegian Fjords is due this Thursday.  My wife is convinced this cruise will be cancelled - I am hoping that they just push out the final payment for a number of weeks until they decide vs. taking it and then the hassle and time of getting everything square again if it is cancelled.  We may not even have had our shots by the time we would leave on this cruise, and I have to believe that will be a requirement.  Anyone have any thoughts on what happens when a requirement like that is made and some people cannot get their vaccinations in time due to the phasing rules?

Thanks to Keith1010, here is a link to a Seatrade News article about the Uniworld ship in Venice:

Uniworld cancels six cruises of riverboat rammed by MSC ship

We were just informed that Uniworld has cancelled more cruise dates besides these first six:

We have just been informed by Uniworld that the River Countess will not be returning to service until September. Apparently, the authorities would not allow the ship to be moved for over two weeks during the investigation.  Also, when the ship arrived in the shipyard, they found that some of the damages were more extensive than originally thought.

Hi, or you could call Uniworld:classic_smile:…...I spoke with them yesterday but didn't think to ask. I did make my final payment though and will be sailing her in October:classic_biggrin:

I  should have mentioned in my original post that I did call Uniworld.  The gentleman I spoke with was not certain, but believed the ship was being repaired somewhere near or in Venice.  I was hoping someone here might have better information, or has seen the River Countess .

Lois, when do you sail?  We leave for Milan on Aug 1

  7. Just a few notes from our Gems of Italy Trip in August of 2017 as we prepare for our repeat trip this coming August:

    1.        We traveled from Seattle to Amsterdam and then flew from there to Milan.  We made it to Milan, but about 30 of us on that flight arrived without our checked luggage.  We went to the lost luggage area and did not leave there with a warm feeling that our luggage would ever arrive in time for the cruise.  Because that process took so long, we missed one of the Uniworld buses heading to the hotel, but there was a small van ready for us when we emerged from the customer service area.

    2.       The Uniworld representatives at the hotel told us not to worry about our bags….that this is a common occurrence….we were not convinced, but they were correct…our bags arrived the next day – about 24 hours later.  My advice here is to be sure and pack a carry on bag with your pre cruise items.  We had done, this, but were still stressed about leaving Milan without our bag…it turned out we should not have been worried.

    3.       My recommendation for a great Aperitivo bar in Milan, close to the Rosa Grand Hotel, is the Ravizza on via Ulrico Hoepli 3…about a 5 minute walk from the hotel…we loved it, and think this time we will go there both evenings this time.

    4.       We were unable to cruise the PO river as it was too low – but it was not a problem…Chioggia was great and we loved the extra time there.

    5.       The River Countess will dock in 2- 3 different spots in Venice.  I recommend that you venture out after dinner, in the dark, and see Venice and its people (without the throng of tourists) in more of their natural environment.  We found a route where we followed a canal and found wonderful little restaurants, locals enjoying the cooler, less crowded streets, and the subdued lighting along the canals made for some wonderful views and memories.

    6.       The food on board was the best I have experienced on a cruise ship

    7.       The tour guide/story teller they have on board for St Mark’s and other stops is top notch and makes those tours come alive with her style.  I hope she is with us this time as well.

    8.       Although this is more of a “float”, than a cruise, this is our #1 cruise to date (and we are up to 30 now)….and this is why we are doing it all again….hoping to do more of what we learned from 2 years ago!

Paul covered this so well with his review here...I just wanted to add a couple things we learned along the way.

  8. We enjoyed this  cruise in August 2017 that we are doing it all over again this August (2019).  I used this cruise review to help me plan and prepare, and am glad it is still alive and well two years later!  It was spot on...I will add a couple things we learned from our first experience in a separate post.  But can attest to the accuracy of Brian's review!

    Dear Group,

I have two referral coupons available - preferably for cruises starting before May 31. I had never trouble recommending or being recommended, but I can understand the issue. So I have no problem scanning the coupons and sending them to the referred for further processing. A main advantage is also that this speeds up processing time to a few days. So if anyone is interested please email me at schneider(underscore)on(underscore)cruise(at)yahoo(point)de.

    Happy Cruising!

We are on Ovation (first timers) departing on May 15, 2018.  I have sent you a test e mail to make sure it works.  If you still have a coupon available just reply back to my e mail and I will provide last name and booking #.  We have made our final pmt.

  10. We have the classic pkg on a cruise this coming April.  Can someone tell me that if we order a drink that does go above the classic per drink ceiling, do we then get charged for the difference to our sea pass card, or the does the entire drink price get charged to the card?
