  1. We will now be in NYC port on Halloween *(originally to be in Boston, Boohoo) We always dress up on Halloween cruises since it is our ANNIVERSARY...Best cruise ships for Halloween costumes are Carnival Cruise Lines...they get a perfect 10 for every idea possible. We shall see..as we now have a booked night tour while in NYC.. really messed us up big time..had plans in Boston and NYC for lunch on Nov. 2nd with cherished friends.. that's cancelled. .Maybe just a mask...not sure anything will be going on by the time we get back from the tour.  Only picked this cruise because of being in Boston ON Halloween!! Being my husband worked in NYC for 25 years, Boston was where we wanted to be. Oh well...as they say...…..happens!

I really don't understand Celebrity's dress code for "Chic" nights that replaces Formal or Elegant nights...it boggles me that the words "designer" jeans are allowed...So, what do we do...wear the labels on the outside?  Sorry being picky but I never heard of such a dress code requirement.  They seem to be now like NCL cruise ships..

As far as the NY Manhattan Cruise doc schedules..Celebrity is STILL not registered on Oct. 31, 2019!

Our steward told us the Kleenex box was no longer being placed in the bathroom and now located on the desk due to pple flushing them down the toilet.

Glad I read that! We are on the T/A April and I use the Kleenex to remove eye make up...More stuff to pack!! We are in R 746....back portside with the extended balcony. We had that cabin before...great cabin...But next trip on the CP there were two older ladies in that cabin and I said..."oh, great cabin, right?" The said it would have been if the toilet didn't back up and a leak! Well....hope that is corrected!!

  3. Although I cannot speak to booking with a TA or Princess I can speak to booking with Carnival (Princess parent company) and a travel agent. If I had not checked everything our TA said through Carnival we would have ended up paying hundreds extra. It has been my experience with this travel agent (in particular) and other TA's (in general) the promotions they push and brow beat you into accepting is what works for them. After my experience with the TA when booking my Carnival cruise I vowed never to use a TA again when booking a cruise. Just do your homework. Besides that half the fun. The venue being Princess, Carnival, etc. will always give you the best deal. The travel agent gets the deal from the cruise line and you have to remember that the TA gets paid a commission that has to come from somewhere. Many on cruise critic swear by their TA. I am one that would rather do it my self when it comes to a cruise. Thanks for listening to my rant.

I use to use my friend that is a t/a...now I don't live in the same state so I do it myself...I want to "pick" my cabin when booking, important to me...Our 54th cruise is in 12 days,a t/a leaving from FLL. We have done this a few times before...I find my cabin, then call Princess...I don't use the agent that is assigned to me as I use to call and have to leave a message. Not good for me as the cabin I want would be taken before I received a call back..After I pick my cabin and call Princess...I constantly check if there had been a cabin I wanted and it was booked already..and sometimes. (and on this cruise) someone has cancelled and I immediately hold it and call Princess and change the cabin. They work with you...have to say...we are Platinum on other lines and Princess so far has the best perks for their loyal travelers. Just wish they would also count other points on cruises we have taken in their corporation. We traveled MSC THE DIVINA, last month and to my surprise...the upgraded our status because of Princess...that I was impressed. They are still new here in the USA so they are trying to entice some cruisers..However...a beautiful ship but they need to improve on many things...especially the food...awful to say the least! Very international cruise line out of Miami and a new ship on it's way this year to Miami...Be careful when booking their cabins...not too informative.

  4. On Celebrity (Solstace class ships) the day of the week is on a panel in the floor of the elevators, I never did catch whoever changes these...

We are looking forward to our first Princess cruise (October 22)...our last cruise on MSC Divina after having been on R/C and Celebrity (15 cruises) was a slight let down, so hoping Princess is better.....

We have been all the same plus other lines..you will like Princess...Our 54th cruise is in 12 days..a t/a 14 night cruise...On the Caribbean Princess which we have been on before. I wasn't impressed with the MSC Divina last month, other than it is a beautiful ship, entertainment was ok, SMALL balcony cabins......the food is better in a NJ diner! We have traveled with Carnival (28 cruises) from when we were in our 40's...never had a bad cruise with them..Itr's all what you are looking for...if you go to Cancun on Spring break...then compare that to a Carnival cruise on Spring break...But., we still go on a Halloween cruise with them...they really get into Halloween..if you don't like Halloween..then I suggest you don't take one at that time of year on Carnival. They are what they advertise...Fun, Fun, Fun ships...and good food with plenty of choices...with no extra fees except their Steak House..which we have compared all the cruise lines steak houses and by far, Carnival has the best! Not that Princess is bad...it is good...just not the best!

  5. We are booked on the T/A on the Caribbean Princess and actually was able to book the same cabin we had on that ship in the Caribbean...GREAT cabin...aft...Rivera Deck 14...R746...the balcony jets out and is secluded and covered...I had mentioned to hubby this would be a great cabin (and it is larger than regular balcony cabins) for a T/A only the closet area is a bit smaller. So, I am "adjusting" my luggage a bit...not easy...at least for me...Yes, we did hear that door bang but I don't imagine it will be opening and closing that often when we do the T/A...I almost didn't get that cabin...had booked same deck, another cabin, that we also had stayed in..by the elevators...R 706...convenient too..The very aft is convenient to get early morning coffee...we are early risers and I don't like ordering room service...

  6. Hope they get the deck plans updated showing the connecting cabins. I'm one that does not enjoy having a connecting cabin. It would also be wishful thinking that they provide more seating area in the Atrium. Never enough seating in the Atrium when doing a transatlantic when the weather is cool. The art gallery, IMHO, is wasted space. :D

Take a cruise on either the Royal Princess or the Regal...both have huge Atrium's.
