This is a new and interesting thread. I don't have an answer but my first inclination would be that your husband would be the first one to take on the responsibility. I am sure if you asked your waiter, he would assist you. But I can't imagine the waiter standing over your meal waiting for you to take the next bite. Doubt the kitchen would send out a plate of cut up food (but I could be wrong).
Oh no, I would expect them to cut the whole piece at once. we sit at a table for 2 across from each other and thought it might be awkward passing back and forth but he would definitely do it for me.

I'd be shocked if the Assistant Waiter wouldn't take care of this for you. A large share of their take home pay is based on tips!
Yes, we would definitely tip over and above the crew tips that are usually suggested.

They didn’t use to allow even oxygen concentrators on board but changed that last year. I did notify Princess about it ahead of time. When we got to the Port security held us up to inspect it for about 30 mins before they found out they no longer needed to. Enjoy your cruise

Well as luck would have it, I fell last week and have fracture with a brace on my right hand. Has anyone ever asked or know if the waiter or kitchen will cut my meat up or should I plan on my husband doing it?

Early on I thought I saw a health questionnaire on the medallion site to be filled out a few days before the cruise. Now I can’t find it. Am I mistaken?

We just returned from a week on the Ruby. I still have each day's list of activities, including movies. None of them are familiar to me except Top Gun Maverick.. If it would be helpful I could list several of them for you. The titles & their ratings might be familiar to you. Let me know if that would help. 😊
I would love it...sailing on Ruby in a couple of weeks

I didn't see this posted yet, so here is the CDC info on the current Ruby cruise. Mainly posting for those on the next sailing from Galveston because it could be delayed due to Vessel Sanitation Program inspectors meeting the ship on 3/5:
(BTW we have sailed on many ships after something like this (including crew in Hazmat suits spraying the ship, pre-Covid) and have never had any problems)

i have had experience with this. My husband bought me a transporter. That is a walker that converts to a wheel chair. All 4 wheels are big, not like the little ones on regular walkers so it can go over any kind of terrain. When I get tired of walking, I can turn it into a wheelchair and he can push me. Now I can go anywhere with him and he doesn’t lose out on account of me. I wish you the best. Don’t give up. As the old saying says “Use it or lose it” Best wishes.

Didn’t realize I had 2 threads. It has been 2 weeks since I purchased. Where would I find this on my account? I have been looking under purchases.

I prepaid our gratuities for our 3/9 cruise but they no longer show up on the My Princess website or the Medallion! Any suggestions?

What fatbird is referring to is that Texas laws require that any alcohol served within Texas (and Texas waters) be purchased from an authorized Texas distributor.
Princess has chosen to purchase a minimum of brands from Texas distributors so beverage service is limited to those brands (beer, wine, whisky, etc.) that was purchased this way. Only a few bars are open until out of Texas waters.
Because of this, Princess will put a $25 OBC non-refundable "voyage disruption credit" on the account of everyone who has an alcohol beverage package.
Will they have a list of what is available for sail away?

Do you know if Express Way parking is close to either one?
-
We have a cruise booked on Ruby Princess. I made a reservation for Express Parking blindly without knowing which terminal. Can anyone advise me as to the terminal for Ruby Princess and if Express parking is close? Princess doesn’t show any port information at the moment.
-
Thanks everyone. My husband is not very tech savvy. Good to know he doesn’t need to be.
-
Totally confused regarding parking. We are driving in to Galveston and sailing on the Ruby Princess. Are there parking garages at the terminals? Do these require reservations? We are so use to Ft. Lauderdale and know nothing about Galveston parking. We are both 79 and would prefer as close as possible.
Thanks

Do my husband and I both have to have the Medallion app on our phones or just one of us?
-
My husband and I are looking at South America/Antarctica tours. I have heard weather plays a big part in determining if you can go around Cape Horn. Any suggestions or has anyone researched to find the best month. The Horn is our main interest and I know the weather is fickle and there are no guarantees.

I went on two and have 2 more booked. Ships are very safe. I don't care where I go.
I don’t even care to get off the ships unless it is very special ports.

Thanks everyone. I do have the cellular version. Will be putting my IPhone and “Applewatch” on airplane mode.
-
Has anyone had a pacemaker and had trouble with the lanyard? I read where it could cause problems since the medallion uses an infrared signal. Can’t remember where I read it.

What did you find out? I had not thought about that.
If you have an iPhone, when you put it on airplane mode, it will automatically do the same to your watch. If in your settings you have turned that option on.

We cruise on the CB Princess next Sunday, the 20th. I wear an IWATCH. Will I need to leave it at home. It has cell capabilities. Or does anyone know if I need to put it on airplane mode and how? Thanks
Never mind found answer as soon as I posted.
