  1. We too have just returned from fiords.

Day one was Stavanger.....Sunday,very quiet.Trip to canning factory surprisingly good. Cost about £4

Day two was Flam. We had booked railway which we enjoyed but would have been very easy to do independently.

Day three was Olden. Went to glacier with local company. Cost approx £30...well worth doing. Walk takes 40 minutes up to glacier. We are fit 60+ and found walk fine.

Day four was Bergen. Lovely city and we were lucky to have sunny albeit cold day. Took funicular ....£10. Amazing views. Walked down into city....approx 40 minutes.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  2. We are on fiords cruise leaving on Friday. Black and white and 70s theme nights are in brochure. On other

cruises I too have found that black and white has been popular but most passengers do not dress in 70s gear.....prob weight of luggage being main reason.

  3. Are there taxis/ mini buses portside at fiord ports? Like to do our on thing on port days but not visited fiords before. Have looked at P and O excursions and just wondered how easy to do independently. Any recommendations?

  4. You may expect sunshine, cloud, rain. Expect warm weather, expect cold weather. Expect wind, expect calm.

The simplest way to work it out is, look at what your own weather in South Wales is going to be in May. Then allow for it being a bit colder or warmer, and wetter or drier. And if that's no real help, then perhaps you'll see why there's no answer to your question! :p

Am aware that we can expect a variety of weather conditions....just wondered what others had experienced. Obviously need to be prepared for all conditions.
