  1. Here's the website for the Bayonne Bridge construction updates (bridge between Staten Island and Bayonne, not the NJ Turnpike I78 Bridge from Newark to Bayonne) - https://www.panynj.gov/alerts-advisories/advisories-bayonne-bridge.cfm

In recent months the closures have been primarily overnight.

Thanks Carol. I have already seen that website you shared. I was looking for a real time report on what Bob experienced.

  2. Can someone suggest a decently priced motel that has food and some form of entertainment activity options close by? We are sailing on the Oasis in February and will arrive a day before the ship leaves as a backup plan in case if inclement weather in our departure area. We are traveling with small children and if I remember correctly, there is not really too much in the way of restaurants or activity spots near the port. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. A clean place to stay with at least a pool for the kids and a decent restaurant close by would do. Transportation to the ship offered by the lodging would be an added plus. THANKS

  3. I realize that they are in business to make money, but all of the photos that people decline to purchase get thrown away. I bet its more than 50%. If they were to price the pictures more reasonably, there would be less waste. And I think in the long run, they would make more total profit. The first time cruisers frequently purchase them because they want to preserve those memories. My wife and I did the same thing our first time,,,but we are taking our 11th cruise with RC this month and our very first cruise was the only time we sprung for the pictures, mainly because we feel, and still feel, that they are way too expensive.

  4. Hello fellow cruisers !! We are sailing on the Quantum later this month with my daughter, son in law, and two grandchildren ages 2 an 3. We are planning on spending an entire day at the beach on Megans Bay with the little ones. The info RC provides states that you are dropped off at the beach, but there is no return transportation back to the ship. Does anyone know if there is a bus we can take back, or possibly a cab? My daughter also has concerns with car seats if we have to hire a ride back to the ship. Does anyone know what the policy is on this? We just don't want to get into a situation where they won't allow us to ride without car seats. I'm sure someone with little children can answer this question for us. We called RC,,,and I know it's probably hard to believe, but no one could answer our question. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THANKS !!!
