Just off the Getaway last Saturday, Your going to have a GREAT Cruise !! Beautiful ship, Brand new, nothing worn out or dirty yet, Food was good, service top notch.. I ate in speciality restaurants, Tippenyaki, a great show by the Chef, Brizilian steak house, (forgot name) all types of meats to try, the lamb chops the best !! last and the best was the Italian Restaurant, ordered the VEAL Shank was to die for !! The food was also good in the other resturants you did not have to pay extra for.. I would suggest getting chairs by the pool, on same floor, if you get chairs on upper decks, it a long walk to stairs to get down to pool area, stairs on end of ship, where Carnival has semi circle stairs in middle of ship to go down to pool area, Carnival I think has a better layout.. But other than that, look forward to a great Cruise in a few weeks...

Sailing this Saturday on Norwegian Getaway, started to pack, I need info on evening free style dinning. Can guys wear nice pair of shorts and a Polo shirt to dinner ? Or have to wear long pants with a dress shirt ? What are people wearing to free style dinning these days?

the water taxi is a nice boat ride to the Atlantis you sail by Nicholas Cage house, he lives right next door to the Atlantis Hotel then you dock under a bridge and it a shot walk to the Atlantis Hotel and its not expensive

Been to Bahamas a few times. all we ever do is the flee market where ships dock, and head over to Atlantic Hotel to walk around.. any nice beaches in Nassau ?? seven adults just drink, and relax no frills just calm warm waters, and sand

leaving on Norwegian getaway in couple of weeks one stop is st Thomas ship arrives early but leaves at 4:00pm not a lot of time Ive been to st Thomas before went to megans beach, also a beach in st johns but that needed a ferry ride to the other side, anyone recommend a different beach seven adults calm, sandy beach no frills just to drink and relax and sun?

On the getaway in two more weeks.. Is coffee free on the ship ?? I know carnival is all the coffee you want

How much are drinks on getaway ? Beer, wine, rum and coke ? not sure yet if it worth it to purchase a drink card? I know you have to drink so much in a day to make it worth it..

Since Maho is on the opposite side of Phillipsburg from the port, the transfer time is very dependent on traffic. But as a basic idea you can figure on 15-20 min.

Well worth it.

There'll be vans shuttling to Maho beach, and back to the ship from the bar on the right-hand side of the beach looking inland.

The little planes are no fun, they land well down the runway.

The big jets need every inch and arrive vaguely around noon to 2.30pm.

 

If you're gonna hang from the fence when they take off, be aware that as well as the wind, noise, smell & heat, the jets kick up a lot of grit

how long is van ride from ships port to Maho Beach ?

Anyone ever go to st marteen airport the edge of runway to see planes land and take off ? I seen videos and seems like a wild sight to see... Is it worth the trip to go see this from ship?

I sailed carnival before they allow two bottles of wine to take onboard. How about Norwegian ? Leaving in two weeks on the getaway, can you allowed to take boozed on board ?
