  1. Glad to see I'm not the only compulsive cruiser ou there.

I must say I’m guilty of fiendishly haunting the Cruise Critic message boards and yes it certainly makes the waiting for the next cruise easier. I call it my cruising minute of the day. I’m afraid I’m also guilty of watching the cruise ships pull out of the ports on departure day, especially the month or so before an upcoming cruise. The Fort Lauderdale webcams are great, the Miami webcam not so much.

I don’t go around bragging about this of course, my husband knows and sometimes partakes, our grown sons think we’re weird and I wouldn’t venture to think what our large extended families would make of such an outrageous pastime.

The anticipation is almost as good as cruising, I think it makes our cruises last longer!

  2. Wonderful, I’llbe following along. We’ll be on the Equinox in 48 days or so for a B2B2B.Looking forward to Key West.

I have awebcam addiction so I watched the Equinox leave the port of Miami today and ifyou wave at the webcam in Key West tomorrow I might just get a glimpse of you!(I might not have much time but I can’t seem to resist the webcams, it alsoseems prolongs the pleasure we get out of cruising). I’ve also watching to seewhere the Equinox is docked and I’m glad it’s in town. The last 2 cruises wewere docked at the navy base and that turned out to be a hassle.

Make sure totake in the SILENT DISCO, it will be listed in your daily planner, it’s ablast. Specialty teas at Café al Bacio are not to be missed.

    Enjoy yourcruise.

  3. I have 4 upcoming cruises with the “free” beverage package and they all show under Order History in the Cruise Planner.

Gizi, As recent as October there w as no indication of the beverage package on the Xpress pass. Did your other perks show on the Xpress pass. ....Prepaid grats. OBC or internet??

No nothing else shows up on the Xpress pass however the OBC shows up on the Celebrity website at the top of cruise planner. Nothing else shows up anywhere. I always bring copies of all my paperwork just in case although I've never actually needed it.

  4. During our B2B on Silhouette last January, we got acertificate for a free laundry bag during the 2nd week. At the time I thoughtthis was just a usual perk for our 2nd week. No one else on CC has evermentioned getting this perk on a B2B that I’ve seen. We were first timers onCelebrity (in a regular 2B veranda cabin) but have cruised twice with RCI howeverI have no idea if Celebrity would take that into consideration.

We’re sailing on Equinox in January, a B2B2B so I’m hopingthe free laundry bag perk was not a mistake!

PS I think the plastic rubbish bag to line the paper laundrybag is a great idea, another suggestion I’ve seen is using duct tape toreinforce the paper bag.

  5. Did you look under Order History in the cruise planner; that is where it should show. The new X website has numerous glitches & this is one of them.

Another way to check is go to X website-do not log-in go to the menu & Select Cruise Planner. It will ask for your reservation #, ship, sail date, etc complete that and when it takes you to your Cruise Planner then look under history. It should show.

    Hi

I've checked everywhere and tried your method as listed above and our free Classic Beverage Pkg doesn't show up anywhere on the X website but it did show up very clearly on our express passes when I printed those out for our 3-wk on Equinox in January.

  6. Re purchase of iPad with OBC. I used what was left of my first week's OBC for a cover/keyboard for the iPad and with the second week's OBC I purchased the iPad. Great buy. In CAD would have cost a bit over $1200 incl taxes.

We sail B2B2B in Jan/Feb on Equinox and will have $400, $300 and $300 plus TA credits. My husband plans to spend it all on a GoPro camera with all accessories,to be purchased in increments over the 3 weeks!

  7. I’d been watching the ships sail in and out of the port of Tampa for a while (getting in the mood you see) and I’d never seen fog until this week. It’s still really thick right now, we can’t make out any of the buildings.

Here’s my question for the locals, we sail out of Tampa April 19, is fog still a problem in April?

  8. Hi,

I just put in a search for Sunbird not expecting to find anything...

We had our first ever cruise on the Sunbird and we still remember it quite fondly.

The dance floor in the ____ lounge was a wood inlaid Mariner's compass, just gorgeous. We danced the night away for 7 nights straight. We haven't had such good dancing music on a cruise since (well except on our last cruise 2012 NCL Gem).

We were such novices on that cruise - we didn't know we could ask the room steward to push the beds together - we slept apart the whole time, well not quite but there wasn't much room on those cots! Everbody else seemed to be on their 12th or 20th cruise! We kept saying next time we'll be old hands at this cruising business and then we coould lie and say it was our ...8th cruise!

There were a lot of British travellers on that cruise. We were always going up or down the stairs on the wrong side (well, according to them anyway), they would laugh and say 'Canadians hey'.

We thought the ship was so big! It was a good initiation to cruising.

I found this YouTube video about the hx of the Sunbird

    Thanks for the memories
