  1. The website isn't completely up yet, but Cruise to the Edge 2015 has Yes, Marillion, Allen Holdsworth, PFM, Lifesigns, Nektar, Caravan, Big Elf, Jolly, Thank You, Scientist, and many more. My husband and I went last year and had an amazing time.

Dr. Football, you will want to check out the After Hours Electric Prog Jam. It's all prog fans, pro or semi pro musicians, who get together after the nightly performances are over and with no practice, they play prog songs. Last year's had some 'guest' musicians who will appear very familiar (for instance, Geoff Downes playing 'Video Killed the Radio Star' with Jammers!). Type in the name as a URL, it goes live in January with choosing songs.

As it's jumping to a different cruise line, not sure if the 'drink vouchers' will be happening this year. For CTTE14, you got 50 tickets for $220 and it got you any alcoholic beverage.

The itinerary is Key West and a private Island somewhere in the Bahamas. I'm wondering if it will be Coco Cay, as On the Blue (the promoter chartering the ship) was just there last month with one of their other charters.

Alums were able to start booking today, with the general population booking in January.

We barely slept for 5 nights because we had so much to to do and see. If you like prog music, this is a must do cruise.

Thanks! We're Booked! Had to " Con the wife" into going to visit her little Sis in Tampa first, but we got er done...

Will probably shelp my Les Paul Traveller and my new Fender Carbonita Tele,...with my Pignose 30/60.. Last tour I just brought the traveller and my ovation amplified acoustic,..

As we only cruise NCL since 2005, I'm glad it changed over,...I have a very nice video of both Yes Shows from last years Cruise,. And I'm also( as a player) a big Holdsworth fan....

  3. Re: Age- Dirk, I have 5+ years on you, I hit "the Double Nickel" this Summer, and I'm finally feeling my age. ...one of my Nephews calls me "uncle Sta-puff"...he's Heading for the Army on a Ranger Contract tho, so I called a few friends who called a few friends, so he will have a surprise waiting at Ranger Intake....[emoji6] going to be passing thru SLC this summer in the RV, if your around, email is askdrfootball@gmail.com. I'd love to compare Trip notes, we did Bermuda on NCL in Late 11, and we're doing a "Music Cruise" this Fall, and Alaska cruise next Summer for our 10th wedding/15th Annv. Of our first Date....

  4. Very nice review! I have not been on carnival since 2002(My wife and I feel too many kids are out of control with no parental guidance: I taught Spec Ed for 26 years, so screaming kids and my wife and I don't" comprehende" ) but we may "Suck it up" since this iten. Is interesting,...re-Located from the East coast to N. AZ a few years ago, so we're looking into West Coast and Gulf cruises now. I'll be in PR later this year on biz.( I'm in Shooting Media-Nice Nick!) for a shooting match, that my friends did last year. Love the Rain Forrest pics,...last time I was in Thick RF like that was Panama for Our uncle....Keep it coming....

  6. I agree. So hard to get a straight answer from ANYONE at NCL. They constantly contradict themselves and if NCL feels they will even lose $1 NCL will almost always find a reason to rescind a promise. I understand it's a money making business but they really have to train everyone who comes in contact with the public better.

And that's the main reason I go through a TA and not NCL directly. First on NCL in 2008 we had this issue. Much better on the Gem during the last Bermuda sail in 11. So Jenny is the HD now. She was the AHD when we last sailed!

  7. Very Good Review[emoji4]

As for splash, I'm a retired Teacher(26 years) and helped my parents raise an Autistic Brother. They can easily cover half the windows to reduce the issue of Audio process perception in "spectrum" kids. Keep writing. I'm a 5 time Cruiser and two Time NCL, and my next three cruises will be the Pearl for a Music Cruise( Cruise to the Edge out of Miami) and two Jewel( Pacific Mexico and Alaska)out of LA & Seattle. I was an East coaster until 3 yrs ago, Now I'm in high Desert of Northern Arizona so all the cruises are west coast now. Imagine a 12 Year Military Aviation Vet who hates long flights?!! I'd rather spend the time at sea...

  8. Did Bermuda on the Gem 10/30-11/6/11.....not as warm as maybe June or July, so I would think April is the Same. Go see St. George and have lunch at the Dock

If you plan on hiring a Guide to take you around Bermuda, find "Duke"!!!! I'll find his info...

This is my rescued 4 legged son...he will be cruising with us as my support therapy Dog in 15 and 16...ImageUploadedByTapatalk1419575969.785629.jpg.04d9d0f54821c81798007fa7d1c88fd7.jpg

  9. As Someone who has Traveled Central America as a young man, for work( In Uniform), with very few exceptions, you've seen one Cent. Am. Port, you have seen them all. After we do MX pacific and Alaska for our Annv. In 16, it will be a Panama Canal Transit. I would like to return to Grenada, as when I was there last, we were working( Operation Urgent Fury)....

  10. Miss the Gem, as we moved West from NY to N.Az a few months after our Gem Bermuda cruise 10/31-11/6-11. Please anyone Sailing on her, check that the Navy Medal is still on the Mermaid! I placed it there in honor of 3 Family Members(2 Uncles and a Cousin) who all sailed the Seas for the USN.

    Thanks

  11. Great now the wearer's of baseball caps into the dining venues and the folks wearing two sizes too small sleeveless tank tops will have somewhere to hang out.

Yes I'm old school were hats should be left at the door.

Some folks who wear hats to dine are also making a Statement( like what's on the Hat!!) and some of us are hiding horrible Scars, the result of military wounds...

You can salute and thank me if we ever sail on a cruise...

  12. So glad to see you are still here and doing reviews. I've been off the site for about two years( consumed with buying a new house that we decided was too big for us, so we're selling again to go into a condo, and writing two books so we can afford to cruise again). Your reviews are always spot on. Thanks

  13. There is very little personality and he is not very entertaining. I guess I have just been spoiled by some of the best ..like Sinan[emoji4]

Everyone loves Sinan!!! We had JC in place of Sinan on the Gem in November. Of 11. He was very good in his own right. We talked a bit.( I was blogging the trip as the M&G organizer for that trip, and as I've been in media a long time, did short interviews with key crew). He told me he was giving up( at the time) opportunities at home to stay with NCL because he really loved his Job...no matter where it took him. He might just be tired, it happens. I hop you give him another chance. If you get to talk to him tell him Dr Football from the Gem 3 yrs ago sends regards. He and Jenny Lim helped me get something put on the Sea Statue in the Bride observation room( a navy Comm Medal that belonged to my Uncle, a Sea Bee In WW2 and then an officer in the Korean...)..,

  15. We were last on the Gem in 11 for Bermuda( last sail of the season). We did an Aft starboard balcony since I was the CC meet ( M&G) up organizer, we were upgraded anyway,..if you see Sinan tell him "Dr Football" from( Formerly Long Island) said Hi,..we had him on a Carib. Cruise the year before, but Johnny "Cash" was our CD for Bermuda since Sinan was on vacation...

  16. All: we wound up "not" doing this and going with the regular Photo personnel aboard the ship. MY wife determined the "sales" lady was strictly interested in "Upsell" and stood very firm on the $250.00 base price of a package. We were not really interested in "Canvas" versions of our photos, which is one of their big selling points.

We got(with the regularships photogs) 5 different 8x10 Photos(5th free) plus a set of our choice of smaller 4x6's and wallets AND a CD(DVD i guess) of all the shots in all sizes(resolutions) for $80.00.

I'm sure if your looking for a "professional" sitting and spending a hour+ on various poses then it's worth it. But her "demeanor" wasn't.
