Personally I'd take Amtrak up early on the day before right into penn station and look for a well priced hotel in Manhattan and enjoy!!

 

You said you could drive up the day before anyway

 

Do the math and see if an overnight in NYC makes sense

I'm debating on how I'm going to travel up to NY for this trip. Take Amtrak up from Baltimore the morning of the cruise, or drive up the day before. I've heard that some hotels let you park there while your on the cruise does anyone have a recommendation.

Hi - it was $99 each for the entire week. I am not sure if they sell just day passes. As I recall, it is more for longer cruises. Ours was 8 nights.

Just reading all your posts and was wondering what was the cost for a Pass for Vibe?

There is a small laundry department that work multiple shifts. They do all of the linens, table cloths, napkins, towels, guest laundry. I am sure that they will be happy to run your shirts through the napkin folder. You probably won't get the same level of care as the Captain's dress uniform.

not worried about my shirts.....but my whitey tighties......you know....don't want them starched.....

Does anyone know who are the staff people that do the clothes washing on the Star.....I want my wash done by the pro's and not some first time rookie....so if you got the names I would really like that.

Which Hampton are you in and how far a drive is the Manhattan Port? We usually drive up and stay near Meadowlands but our go to hotel has no vacancies. We could just drive up the day of departure as it's a 4 1/2 hr drive but that makes me nervous.

cruisin07family, I'm down in Ranson WV. What we have done is leave here on Saturday head up to Baltimore and take AMTRAK into NY on Sunday morning. Take a cab from Penn Station only a couple blocks from Pier 88. Just a suggestion.
