You may not get that but some people who were cruising tom ( not sure which ship) have been informed they are cancelled.  I would not fly.  Hope you have SW Air or other refundable.

Painful for so many..we are unwinding our recently cancelled (by us ) cruise.  Many loose ends and credits to chase down...

At least when cruise line  cancels  they will handle it, refund it all and give future  OBC and maybe some trvl expenses .

Thank you for your compassion - we have pulled the plug and trying to cancel flights for tomorrow now . ..

If it were me, I’d be calling Celebrity or my TA right now to get an answer.

We have called both TA and Captain's Club - at the time we actually got thru, both had not yet received any notification our cruise was cancelled - I get the press announcement, but I need confirmation from the people holding my money.

My sincere condolences to all who just had their cruises cancelled. I am not among those effected, but can only imagine your distress.

THANK YOU for your kindness - it's even a bigger disappointment because these vacations are treasured times with family that don't live nearby we were looking forward to seeing tomorrow  . . . . (yes, we could all still hang out in FLL, but not the same)

We 'were' on the same April 11 cruise.  Disappointed I guess best sums it up.

Why would you go?  Unless to enjoy a land vacation.

Because we are outside the cancellation period on the regular program - we need confirmation that our cruise is not sailing or risk losing all our money as Celebrity is still telling us it's not cancelled ($15k for family).

Celebrity has released a press release that all US cruises are cancelled after midnight tonight.

    https://www.celebritycruisespresscenter.com/press-release/1158/royal-caribbean-announces-voluntary-suspension-of-cruising/

I appreciate that but when we call Captain's Club we were told there was no knowledge of our cruise being cancelled - you can appreciate that I need someone to confirm from Celebrity vs. a press release I can't access on their public page, I'm sure.

I agree blubionda.  We are supposed to leave ORD tomorrow afternoon for our Eclipse sailing on Sunday.

Ditto on ORD for us - but we are Sat flight for Sunday Silhouette . . . . cruising with family flying in from North Carolina and we were all looking forward to our vacation, spending time with each other and enjoying our connecting hump cabins booked 18 months ago . . . (I am not implying that is more important than the illness/people staying well of course, just can't help but be disappointed is all). :classic_ohmy:

We are also still scheduled to go for Spring Break.... We really don't want to be quarantined either... We have an inside cabin for this cruise..🙃 As we have been to the Caribbean many times -- we always say they just change the signs, as we approach the island so a balcony is not necessary...😁 I will have to think that over in the future...

IF you go/IF you can go, I'd bet you could upgrade now for cheap! :classic_happy:

  8. We just disembarked Reflection on Dec 7th and not only was it on our menu but I ordered it (other options were not appealing to me and I love meatloaf so thought I would try it).  There was no extra charge and it was a disappointment - the flavor was strange and the spicing not my preference.  Just one person's opinion . . .

  9. We just LOVE the Hideaway on deck 7 on Reflection/Silhouette and wondering if Team Earth will be replaced on Equinox/Solstice/Eclipse with the Hideaway during the upcoming fleet renovations - does anyone know any info on this topic?  We are particularly interested in Equinox as there is no reason for us to book deck 7 in 2020 without the Hideaway coffee/tea right outside our door! :)

  10. Celebrity won't be going to Glacier Bay anytime soon. I think the permits are at least 10 years. Last permits were granted in 2009

That's what I was afraid of (I found the "contracts" for HAL & others). THANK YOU for your info!

Since this will be their only cruise, I would have liked to put my folks on Celebrity Solstice, but not sure I want them to miss Glacier Bay . . .

  11. I know it will be awhile before Celebrity releases Alaska 2016 (believe only Crystal Cruises had released 2016 dates so far).

However, does anyone know what ships Celebrity will have in Alaska in 2016 and/or if they got one of the permits for Glacier Bay (to my knowledge Celebrity doesn't have Glacier Bay options on any 2014 or 2015 Alaska sailings).

    Any info is appreciated!

  12. I confess - I hate the muster drill; I'm so excited about finally being on the ship/my first day of vacation, that the last thing I want to do is put on a smelly vest (back when we had to), fight the crowds and then stand around crammed together while we wait for folks that couldn't get to the drill on time.

HOWEVER, I always go without complaint, without food/drink and without talking while the announcements are made/roll is taken.

WHY - because it's important and it's the rules.

Mom always taught me that if you can't afford to tip, you shouldn't eat out; similarly, if you are of able body and can't be bothered to do the safety drill/be respectful during the drill, then you shouldn't cruise.

  13. Just returned from the Hawaii-South Pacific cruise on the Rotterdam and was in cabin 7070. This is one of 2 centre cabins of 8 cabins facing aft.

The decks on deck 7 (Navigation) are approximately 3/4 coverd while the balcaonies on deck 6 are completely covered.

THANKS for the info!!! I originally booked 7070 but was concerned about noise from above so I moved down to deck 6 (but would prefer 7070 location in center . . .); did you have any noise issues from the Retreat above you?

  14. I too would like to know if these four cabins have wider balconies as they appear to in some photos. I have seen blubionda's post in other locations but can't find the answer. Were you able to determine the answer? Thanks

Yep - I've tried to get this info a few times/few places but still no luck.

I thought I would try posting my question again in the Spring - thought maybe after more people have been on the "renovated" ship I might get a better response regarding these balconies. :)

    take care,

    Kristin

  15. I can't quite tell from DBA's great pictures (which are very much appreciated!) but I would love to know if any of the Aft cabins have bigger balconies - e.g. does the area for the far port/starboard aft balcony (A6240, A6229, A7076, A7067) go all the way to side of ship or is balcony limited by a divider as indicated on deck plans?

We are planning a 30-day Tahiti and would love to have this tidbit of info (currently booked in A6225).

  16. SHIP: Celebrity Solstice

    CABIN #: 1206

    DECK (#): Sky (10)

    CLASS: C1

    AREA: Aft

    BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes with exception of room attendant supply closet activity on occassion (very minor and of no inconvenience to us personally).

BALCONY VIEW: Wonderful - view of wake and either side of ship (after passing by, of course). Wake is "spotlighted" in the evenings and is beautiful to watch (wake can be admired from Sunset/Oceanview bars and Tuscan Grille as well).

BALCONY SIZE: Largest of AFT cabins due to supply closet next door.

    WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Yes, a little bit

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Last year we had #1200 with no soot and this time in #1206, had a bit of soot almost every day. However, another poster who had #1206 two weeks earlier had no soot = leads me to believe it's simply a result of which way the wind is blowing as to whether or not you will have a problem with soot on an AFT balcony. Also, outside this cabin is where room attendants keep all supplies for am/pm cabin service - if it bothers you to have the carts/hampers outside your room for several hours a day, you might want to choose another location.
