  1. I always book the hot stone massage with the added foot massage. I carry tension in my neck and shoulders and they always use hands, elbows and forearms to work out the knots, always asking to let them know if the pressure is too much or too little. I let them know, right away, that I’m not interested in purchasing any additional products.

It’s always a wonderful experience, and a very important aspect of my cruise vacation.

Enjoy your massage… enjoy your cruise.

  2. Just to add to the list of things that can go wrong…

Back in 2013, my Mother and I were flying on American Airlines to Antigua for a land vacation (thankfully).  When our scheduled boarding time came, the gate staff announced that there would be a delay because one of the pilots spilled coffee on the control panel in the cockpit, which then had to be switched out.

    Yeah, spilled coffee!!!

Our flight was delayed 5 hours.

If we’d been heading to a cruise, I would have passed out! 😅

Fly in early, get a hotel, do some sightseeing, eat a nice dinner, relax and wake up refreshed and ready to cruise.

  3. Always: Celebrity, my favorite. The crew, the excellent service, the cleanliness, the ships, the solarium, the cuisine, the pampering, the little extras.

Runner up - Royal Caribbean. The entertainment is top notch. The crew is terrific and service is very good.

Try: Regent, Silversea, Seabourn, Holland America, Princess, edited to add Disney

Never: Well, never say never. I’m willing to try any cruise line and I can’t see myself NOT enjoying a cruise unless I or my travel companion were to take ill or get injured.

  4. 2010 - Vision of the Seas - Round trip out of Venice to Alexandria, Egypt (overnight); Ashdod, Israel (Jerusalem and Bethlehem); Haifa, Israel (Nazareth and Galilee); Athens, Greece.

Ever since I was a little girl and heard of those Pyramids, I dreamed of seeing them, and this was when the opportunity came. I have a long list of trips I’d like to take, but this one was the only one on my “bucket list”.

2001 - Celebrity Zenith - Round trip out of NYC (my hope port) to Hamilton and St. George’s, Bermuda.

I very reluctantly tried this cruising thing and got hooked! 😀

  5. We’ve done this through Resorts for a Day in three ports:

    Nassau - Warwick Paradise Island

Grand Cayman - Margaritaville (We actually got a room with this booking)

Curacao - Santa Barbara Resort (gorgeous resort, but far away-transportation was included)

All very nice quiet beach days. I highly recommend doing this. Very reliable website.

  6. Hello fellow cruisers,

Sailing round trip Los Angeles (San Pedro) to Hawaii with my favorite octogenarian (my dear Mother). Our cruise ends on Monday November 11th, Veterans’ Day. My mom will have wheelchair assistance at both the cruise port and airport and we never pack light 😀, so no walking off the ship with luggage for us.

I’m looking to book flights and wondering what time would be best to fly home. We’ll have to wait for wheelchair assistance, get our luggage,  have a porter assist us, go through customs, get a taxi and get to the airport. We’re flying LAX to JFK so lots of flights available. Should I plan for a 1:00PM flight, or is that too early for comfort? Would 2PM or 3PM be a better choice?

I await advice from the experts.

    Thank you in advance.

    Happy cruising!

  7. I loved both ships. I agree the Reflection felt slightly more crowded, and the reduced space in the Sky Lounge was noticeable. We are main dining room cruisers, so specialty restaurants are not important to us, although I think choices give everyone a better cruise experience and Reflection has more choices.

Having said all that, I would always prefer a longer cruise. Eleven days on Reflection beats nine days on Equinox.

Whichever you choose, have a wonderful cruise.

Wishing you calm seas and smooth sailing.
