It is a long way from the city to the grain terminal.

There is no advantage to the driver to avoid the tolls because the passenger pays for them anyway.

I had a look at the hotel / apartment prices in Coolum for the dates you mentioned.

:eek: very expensive. I'm guessing its because that is right before school holidays start.

I'd probably look at staying in Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, or Alexandra Headlands. The zoo shuttle picks up from all of these places.

Of all of them Mooloolaba would be my pick. Lots of nice restaurants, great walking beach and path along the beach. Grocery store if you need that.

It would be cheaper to stay there and use a shuttle to get there from the airport then it would to stay at Coolum.

Let me know if you find a hotel / apartment in Mooloolaba you like the look of and I'll let you know what I think. I know the area pretty well.

I would probably look at booking soon though if they are definitely going because it will book up quickly due to the school holidays.

I'd probably stay at Coolum. It would be the easiest to get to from the airport.

Yes it is within walking distance. Might take you about 15 minutes. Alternatively there is a bus that you can get on near the port that will drop you near a cross street that the tower is on. The bus costs about 50cents ( not a misprint - 50 cents )

I don't know the bus number or name but it just did a circuit around the inner city.
