The blue/white bus from the highway with Centro or Olas Altas on the screen brings you to the Malecon and old town. Lots of nice small shops, also a flea market near the Rio Cuale. Cab at the port charge in US$ per person, those yellow cabs on the highway will charge around 100,- Pesos. Always make your rate before getting in.
Across from the terminal there is Galleria Mall with Liverpool as main shop. Nice shops but of course more expensive then the markets. And yes you will also see Walmart and Sams almost next to the Mall.
That's more like what we are looking for -- appreciate your reply -- Happy cruising --:)

It's been over 30 years since we have been to PV so obviously things have changed -- we would be interested in some suggestions on where to shop in PV and what the taxi ride might cost and how far it would be from where the ship docks -- we have never taken a cruise out of California and are flying to LA for our first Mexican Rivera Christmas cruise -- looking forward to the adventure -- thanks in advance for any assistance and Happy cruising --:)

We have been on the Miracle a couple times out of ports here in Florida -- we have our first cruise departing from a port in California on the Miracle coming up in December and we are looking forward to traveling on her again -- good to read that the service and amenities are still top notch -- thanks for sharing -- hope one day to SYOB -- until then Happy cruising -- :)

Just booked my first Carnival cruise for next month (long time RCL/NCL/MSC cruiser). I have always been wary to book Carnival based on things Ive heard, but from what I see, this ship seems to be well loved. What can I expect out of the MDR though? Anyone know where any sample menus are? Does Carnivals MDR food compare to RCL/HAL/NCL? I also like the fact that this ship only has 1 paid restaurant, seems like NCL has more fee added dining than free options. How is the steakhouse on the Conquest though? Worth the $35 cover? If it matters, ill be on a 5 night eastern Caribbean.
Thanks!
John -- go to http://www.zydecocruiser.com and he has all the Carnival menus listed on his web page -- He even includes the steakhouse menus -- I felt the RCCL evening food was a bit better than Carnival's, but certainly wasn't disappointed with Carnival's offerings -- Happy cruising -- :)
