I recommend Hilton La Romana.  Here is a link to a YouTube video. The video description has a lot of info in it, including day pass cost and taxi at the time we were there.

I've been there twice, once in Sept 2013 when it was under Dreams management and again in October 2019, which is now under Hilton management, and it is amazing...if you like the beach, pools, all-inclusive resort, and relaxing.  I can't speak for how busy it will be when you go, but both times we went there were not many people around. But, I know people that went in March 2014 (spring break time) and it was very busy. Also, if you like snorkeling, I can't say the snorkeling is the best...not many colorful fish...however, there are a lot of starfish.  I've seen them both times I've been there.

How did you book this?  I can't find the info on their website for a day pass.

  2. Sailed her in June 2014 and only experienced crowd issues with the comedy club...just arrive a little early and have an extra beverage! We were able to find chairs on sea days. We enjoyed eating over in the Havana Bar when seating was limited closer to the buffet; so much so that we went there EVERY morning. Not a fan of how they did anytime seating by making us check-in somewhere other than the dining room (didn't know if it was a trial or not). In general, like the vibe, enjoyed running into various people time and time again (didn't happen on bigger ships as much). In fact, enjoyed it so much, I'm doing the "other" itinerary for my honeymoon May 2015.

  3. Good review. We were on the ship at the same time. Just wanna add for anyone that might be interested that the Piano Bar performer (Dave) was GREAT!.

Movies that were playing: Lots of kid stuff...Harry Potter, Yogi Bear, Tron Legacy, Despicable Me, Little Fockers (twice). Not thrilled with the movies this time around and it was one of our fave things last year. Basketball the 1st night and then quite a few concerts too.

  4. We rented last year (booked about 60 days before the cruise) and didn't have any problems. His staff was great. We loved this island and the people. Definately pre-book. They also have Jeep Wranglers and since all golf carts were reserved, they actually have us the option to rent the Jeep at the same price (someone really wanted the golf cart). We declined and explored all over the island and ended at Jack's Shack. Take the back roads and just cruise around. I think we drove down a few people's drive ways last year :)
