  1. We had an upcoming cruise in May and just cancelled. We don’t know what the future holds, but we are in our 70s with some health concerns, but very active seniors. We just don’t want to take chances with our health. Don’t want to end up quarantined on ship or pick up illness on plane.  We cancelled day before final payment was due.

  2. Someone on my upcoming Alaska cruise on Radiance of the Seas said that RC told them that Radiance does not have little hair dryers in the drawer in the stateroom like other ships.  I have been on many RC ships and they have always had hair dryers.  Just wondering if this is accurate and is there anyone who has been on Radiance recently.  Thanks for your help.  I don't want to pack anything extra.

No, there has been nothing mentioned onboard that I am aware of.... I am sorry there is unrest in Haiti, but selfishly I wanna go to Labadee!!!!!

Has a cruise ever diverted because of the unrest? Anyone know?

A few years back, before they built dock in Labadee, you had to tender onto Labadee and tender boats were operated by local Haitians. There was talk that some of the Haitians concerned about losing their income with the new pier had planned to hold a ship or passengers to protest this situation. The cruise we were on suddenly diverted from stopping there.  That’s why I am concerned about all this spreading violence.  My friend, a medical missionary, had difficulty getting out just a couple days ago.

  4. We always thought we weren't paying additional to eat on the ship when there are so many options in the dining room. Well, we tried Chops and loved it and even booked another night! We mentioned it to someone who said their friends had the same attitude about not paying more--- well, they tried it and went along with their friends and loved it so much they booked it several more nights! The food and service is superb.

  5. We stayed in outside view cabin on IOS last year and there was a sign in the room telling you that you must keep curtains closed in evening to avoid distracting the captain, etc. on the bridge. It wasn't a problem; you could have them open in daytime and at night; they could be open to look out with the lights off. We really liked the room. No rougher than any other place on the ship in our experience. Would take that room again in a minute.
