  1. We did a Cozumel Food Tour.  It stopped at several different places, and we sampled food and drinks.  Some of the places were little hole in the wall places that you would normally walk right by but had amazing food.  There was also a stop at a local outdoor market. Not the most exciting excursion, but it was a lot of fun.

  2. We have always cruised in balcony rooms.  Now that I'm retired, we thought we would try inside rooms to be able to cruise more often.  We did NCL and it was a terrible experience, the room was so small, and the bathroom was even smaller.

We had done a balcony in YC and loved it.  Figured we would try an inside. We recently did a YC inside on the Seascape and it was fantastic.  Is it smaller than a balcony?  Yes.  Can I live with that to be able to cruise Yacht Club?  Definitely yes.  The room had plenty of space and enough storage for us.  The bathroom is small but doable.  The shower is very small (I'm 215 lbs) but it worked.

What we always liked about the balcony was being able to get away from the crowds for some quiet time.  In YC there are plenty of spaces for that.  You can go to the Top Sail Lounge or even up on deck there are plenty of open spaces.  In YC, it's even more true that you spend less time in your room, and at half the price of a balcony I can cruise twice as much.

As far as location, they are in the YC so no bad location, just steps to everything.  All the rooms could use more outlets but so many of my rechargeable things use the USB connections, so I bring a 6 USB charger that works great.  I've never been on Celebrity, but I've cruised for 20 years on NCL, Carnival, and Royal.  What they say is true, YC will spoil you to any other type of cruising.

  3. I've had the same problem getting any kind of response.  I've submitted the form 3 times.  I called MSC Casino and they said they haven't received the form and can't do anything without it.  I've called the contact number 20 times so far today and just get a busy signal.  I've e mailed every contact I can find but haven't received a single response, not even auto replies.  This has been going on for almost 3 weeks now.  It's pretty frustrating.

  4. Two weeks ago on the Seascape, the cabanas often had stuff on them without anyone around.  I always wake up at 5:30 and usually read in bed until my wife wakes up.  On the last sea day, I decided to go up and get a cabana.  I was there at 5:30 reading.  Surprised a couple crew members.  At 7:00 people came and locked 2 Kyss bags to the other cabanas and left.  At 9:00 one guy sat on the lounge for about 5 minutes.  At 2:00 it started to rain and the people came for their Kyss bags and left without ever sitting in one of the cabanas.  They really should monitor the use and try to do something to let more people use them.  Kind of hard when people actually lock things to the cabana.

  5. We were on this cruise also. Had a great time. The crew was fantastic and always asking how our day was going. The food was very good in the Main Dining rooms, even better than our specialty choices of Cagney's, La Cucina, and Moderno. The breakfast in the buffet was surprisingly good with some of the best scrambled eggs I've had (powdered or real). We spent time at O'Sheehans and the Wine Cellar.

We live in Maine so driving to Boston was easy. This was our first time on this Bermuda Cruise, but won't be our last.

One warning...there is a deadline for Duty Free purchases in Bermuda. The last day I went to the Rum store at the Dockyard. A sign said that the duty free deadline for the Dawn was 1:00 PM. Since it was after 2:00, I couldn't get the duty free price. 1 Liter Gosslings 80 Black Rum was $16 duty free, $38.00 after 1:00 PM.

  6. We had the new Steakhouse menu the first night of our cruise last week. It was the first time offered, so all the staff kept asking our opinion of it. I had the risotto, stuffed mushrooms, and lobster bisque. All were fantastic. My wife and I both got the cowboy steak, but tried different salts. I had the Himalayan and she had the red Hawaiian. You could taste a difference, but they were both excellent. I also got the side of mushrooms to put on my steak. We ordered the Art At The Table. For this, even the chefs came out to watch since they hadn't seen it before. It was fun and different. Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to really enjoy it. An interesting side note, the table next to us asked if they could buy a bottle of wine at half price to take with them, and their server said "no". I asked our server and she sent over our head sever who told us we could buy 1 extra to take with us.

  7. We had 17 family members join us on our cruise. We have adult kids and this was actually the first time some of them met each other. The same goes with the rest of the family members. Being thrown together for a week can be either good or bad. We lucked out and it was great for us. It worked out so well, that my side of the family now joins her side for holidays like Easter and Thanksgiving.

  8. There is a new Downtown Walking Tour in Aruba. We did this last month and it was extremely interesting. They can meet you near the port and you see some things you would normally walk right by if you didn't know the history. You stop at 2 places for a taste of some local food. We even met 2 members of Parliament on the tour. It lasts about 2.5 hours, leaving plenty of time to explore on your own or do something else. I highly recommend it.

  9. I was married on the Conquest, January 2016. As stated, the wedding takes place before sailing (bridal parties board first). We had 17 family members sail with us. It was an amazing time and I highly recommend it. Carnival was great to work with making the planning less stressful all around. The price was so much cheaper than anything comparable at home. There is a site here on CC that is all about weddings and is full of great information.

  10. We did the Spoon Food Tour last week and loved it. Our guide, Dan, was friendly and knowledgeable. He brought us to several interesting places to eat and the food was great. Just small dishes, but we were full by the end. The walk was filled with history and amazing sights that we would have walked right by if not pointed out to us. I don't know anything about Flavors, but I highly recommend the Spoon Food Tour.

  11. I second the San Juan Food Tours. It was a very different tour. We did not tour the forts, which we had seen before, but our first stop was in a small shop, hidden inside a huge courtyard across from one of the forts. This is the type of place you wouldn't see on a regular tour. The food was great and the tour was memorable.

  12. Looking at the paperwork, I think for the $225, they provide the speaker system if you provide the music. I guess if you have your own sound system there wouldn't be a charge. The paperwork can be overwhelming. Take it one thing at a time by deadline. Some things have to be in right away, others you have a long time to get done. We kept calling to ask what we had left to do because we couldn't keep track of it all. For the license, we paid them to do it. You can save $125 if you do it yourself online, but we didn't feel comfortable doing it. Didn't want to show up for the cruise without the license.

  13. We are not dancers. Our first dance at the reception was our first dance ever. We do like music, and it would be strangely quiet without music at the reception. We did the 90 min. Celebrate Big. The DJ cost $275, if you supplied your own music, it still cost $225. The extra $50 meant it was one less thing for us to worry about. We picked Current top 40, Classic Rock, 70's Disco, and 90's Dance and Popular. The DJ did a great job mixing the songs and it kept the mood up. The 11/2 hours seemed like just the right amount of time. There were only 17 of us and it was all close family so we didn't have to make a special effort to visit with any one, it just flowed naturally. Our photographer was fantastic, he got so many great shots without being in the way and then at the end he posed us for different group shots. If you have any questions, I would be glad to help.

  14. I was on the same sailing, in fact, we got married as we boarded. The delay in boarding stressed us out since we boarded about 12:15 and had a 12:45 wedding. We were a little late getting started, but the wedding and reception was amazing. The whole trip was fantastic, in spite of a little rough weather the last day. There were 17 of us sailing and we usually had 5 or 6 chairs a level or two up from the pool that we shared. The crew was always friendly and helpful. One tip is to go to the trivia games in the main lobby. Even if you don't play, Josh "Big Sexy" makes them great fun to watch. The ONLY minor negative of the whole cruise is the smoke in the casino. But I figure the smoke kept me out, so I saved money!

  15. I got my dress from David's bridal (ordered online) about 3 weeks before the wedding. I originally had a lace, knee length dress I had bought last May, but at the last minute I decided I really wanted a floor length dress. I thought I was too old, but I just loved it and decided I should get what I really wanted... it was my wedding, after all! It was a bargain, less than $170, and all I had to do was have it hemmed:)
