  1. Thank you for all the great information on this thread. I do have questions about the taxis.

We are arriving on the Zuiderdam on Saturday, July 1, from 10am to 11pm and tender in to South Queensferry. There are 5 of us and I understand that the last shuttle bus leaves Edinburgh for the port at 4pm. If we want to stay in Edinburgh for dinner, can most taxis accommodate 5 of us? Or should I make arrangements for a larger taxi in advance of the cruise?

    Thank you for your help.

  2. I was on the Visit Oslo dot com website and saw information about the Olso Pass app. If I understand correctly, I can buy the Olso Pass on the app, activate it using the app on the day I want to use it, and then just show the Pass on the phone to get into the attractions and ride public transportation.

Am I reading the information correctly? Has anyone used this app?

  3. Hi, Danish Viking,

I saw on an earlier post that there will be railwork on the Kystbanen after June 24. We are planning to make two train trips, one to see Roskilde Cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum and the other to Fredriksborg Castle and Kronborg Castle. These will be Wednesday and Thursday of the first week in July. Will the railwork be a problem for these trips? And if so, could you please help me with the trip planning?

One more question. Do I use the Copenhagen cards to get tickets before boarding? Or do we show our cards instead of tickets on the train?

    Thank you for your help.

  4. Danish Viking,

I'm asking for help with mini-van transportation. We are arriving by air, staying for 3 days, on a 12 day cruise, and then arriving back in Copenhagen to spend another 3 days. There are 5 of us traveling together. I saw on earlier posts that there are minivans available at the airport and at the cruise terminal. Please can you tell me if I can book them in advance? And if so, could you please tell me how to do so?

    Thank you,

  5. When my TA checked with the third party, they said they could use my credit card directly with the airline with a different type of booking. This didn't change my cost but one leg of the flight was changed to a different time. I'll probably book for myself next time but this was certainly a learning experience.

I only wanted to go through the TA for the air as she found me a nice package that included the hotel I liked at a discount.

Thanks so much for the comments. I hadn't thought about the cost to the consolidator if they use my card directly instead of the airline.

  6. My problem is that the TA is using a third party provider. I don't know the process when a flight is booked through a company, for example like Expedia. Does my flight get booked directly by them using my card? Or do they have an arrangement with the airlines to settle payments using their own payment method and just use my card to collect from me themselves.

If it's my card, no problem. If it's some other payment method, I think I'm out of luck with the perks but I'm not sure. That's what I'm trying to understand.

    Thanks,

    Cindy

  7. I have a MileagePlus credit card. One of the perks is priority boarding if the United flight is booked using the credit card. My TA has a nice package that has the flights at the same price I found on Kayak and a hotel discount. If I book with the TA (who is using a third party) using the MileagePlus credit card, will United know I used the card and give me priority boarding?

    Thanks,

    Cindy

  8. HI!

I just want to make sure I understand correctly about the laundry bag regardless of ship.

I can use it any day I want to send out laundry.

I can put into the bag all I can get to fit regardless of item type (not just underwear but also things like shirts and pants).

It's about $30 per bag of laundry.

There are specials during the cruise when the bag of laundry costs about $28.

There is no unlimited laundry package that I can buy.

I've never cruised NCL and I'm just learning how things work on this line.

    Thanks,

    Cindy

  9. Hi,

I'm looking at an RCL cruise for next summer. Could someone please tell me about the RCL wash and fold bag. Is this a laundry bag that can be packed to the brim and then the clothes are washed, dried, and folded for a per bag charge? What is the average charge? Can the bag can be sent out on any day of the cruise for the flat fee? Does RCL have a one time charge for the same service for all the bags you want to send out during the cruise?

I'm sorry to ask so many questions but I couldn't find the info on the RCL website.

    Thanks,

    Cindy
