Hi, I'm a composer, and am just starting to put up tunes on my web site, it is illegal and a copyright infringment to use any recorded music with out the owners permission, even if you have bought someones CD or DVD, they are for your personal use only and not to broadcast to the world, unless you get permission from them or their publisher.
I know people are doing it anyway, but eventually web sites like You Tube will have to restrict access and therefore ruin the whole concept of free expression.
There are lots of sites out there that do free stuff and those that don't generally charge very little for background music.
Finally any works used should be copyright credited, how else does the small composer get recognised WaynePaulo.com
