It's about $25 for the taxi, so I guess it depends on how many people you have. Can't beat the convenience of a taxi. I hate waiting for the van to fill up.

We loved our Cove on the Breeze. It is large and you are so close to the water. Be careful though, most of them are directly under a lifeboat which will block the sun for most of the day and obstruct your view of the sky.
-
What time did you arrive at port?
We got there at around 9:15 a.m. Group 2. Still got shut out on Vibe.
-
If you have any desire to see a comedian, book that immediately when you get onboard. We didn't and were shut out for the whole cruise. Also, if you are interested in Vibe passes, go directly to Headliners once you get onboard. 70 passes sold out in 10 minutes on our cruise.

Do you know if they have video poker at the Skyline bar? Is it smoking or non? Enjoyed your review!!
I'm pretty sure they had video gambling, and it is non-smoking.

Great review! Reading makes me feel like I was just on the ship 7 weeks ago...oh yeah I was...:o

I assume the Crepes were in the buffet? Was that every night or a special night? And if it was a special night, was it mentioned in the dailies?
The crepes were in the buffet all the way in the back, every night.;)

I signed up for the Pitbull cruise next March. Awaiting an email from Sixthman that we can start our booking. I'm assuming these chartered cruises are more expensive than a regular 3 day, but how much more?
-
Awesome review. Is Food Republic open for lunch as well??
I believe it is.

Great review! Can you comment more about your sons experiences? I'm in my late twenties and will be doing this cruise as a solo in August.
This was their favorite cruise of 11 they have been on. They had no trouble meeting people and hanging out with them the entire cruise. They loved the music and the deck parties. Also enjoyed the Skyline Bar which is the dance club.

The only thing showing for Tortola is to the Baths on NCL web.
Did you pre-book or when you got on The Escape!
We booked online at NCL. Something is up, because others have said it's not available... Maybe call?

Great review! Very helpful!
I had to laugh at the entertainment note about the "pirates"! They must have seen our group on the Star last year and copied, LOL! There were 20 or more of our group dressed as Pirates!
Sorry if that's so huge, I don't know how to make it smaller.
Anyway, thank you, great review! Happy Sailing!
Awesome.

Great Review! Can't wait for my turn on March 5th!!
Quick question: where did you pick up the car from hertz? I heard you could pick it up close to port But couldn't seem to get the reservation so I just booked it at the airport. Sure Hope they HOLD my reservation. :p
We will head over to Ft Myers area to look at homes. Done with this snow!!
Glad you and your family had a great time and thanks for the tip on Emerald Beach!
It's Hertz Downtown Miami. But I can't recommend it. Really bad.

Did anyone dress up for the 80s party? Also, dos you only eat in Manhattan or did you try Taste or Savor? I was wondering if the service was any faster at the smaller venues.
Never tried Taste or Savor. Sorry.

Couple things I forgot. Debarkation was a disaster. We should have waited another half hour on the ship. The slides were awesome. The boys did the drop one. We did the tube one and it was very fast.
The breakfast in the buffet was ok, but the scrambled eggs were terrible. I recommend going to the omelette station and having fresh eggs cooked to order. Worth the wait.
We didn't do any of the specialty restaurants except Food Republic and Margaritaville. We found the food to be very good in Manhattan, so not really motivated to eat elsewhere. Plus, we really didn't want to be so full after dinner because there was always something fun going on.
On the way back from Tortola, the ship was rocking quite a bit.
If I think of anything else, I'll come back and post it.
-
We booked two prenights at the Margaritaville resort and I saw your thread. How did you enjoy that?
That resort is awesome. You will love it.
-
Oh yeah, forgot about Mr. Worldwide. I love Pitbull and if you do, you will not be disappointed. The boys loved it. His music does get the crowd going. However, as we were walking down the ramp to disembark, Pitbull was playing. My wife said, "I think I've heard enough of Pitbull for awhile." That about sums it up.

On the NCL excursion to JVD did you go directly there or stop other places on way?
Only thing showing on NCL web is combination of stops.
Would love to spend time at JVD in Oct.
We went straight from the pier to JVD. I hope it is available because it was outstanding.

Did the ship seem too crowded or too smoky in any areas?
It really didn't seem crowded. And I didn't notice it being smokey. We gambled a little and it was fine. The only time I felt the crowds was at the bars. The buffet never had lines. It's really set up well. And yes, I am an Islanders fan....

After lunch, we drove around and headed to FLL where we would fly out. Mostly it was to let the boys nap in the car. But really enjoyed exploring FLL. Saw this contraption. It is a bicycle bar. So awesome.
In summary, this was one of the best cruises we have taken. The Escape is a great ship, with great crew. The boys want to do it again next year and I would too.
Forgot about the shows. We only went to the Million Dollar Quartet and it was excellent. Stay until the end. It is the best part.
We would have loved to see a comedy show, but unfortunately, we didn't book it AS SOON AS WE GOT ON THE SHIP! Because it was booked the whole cruise. Bad system.
Any questions, just let me know.

Great lunch at the Land Shark Grill:
-
Debarkation was smooth as could be. We had a very late flight, so we were in no rush.
The boys never went to bed...
We rented a car from Hertz. Worst part of the cruise. It was a Seinfeld episode. They know how to take a reservation, just not how to hold a reservation. Well after an hour we got a car and headed to Hollywood for the Margaritaville Resort.

Sock monkey likes Junkanoo:
I'm guessing the food is good on this ship???
We decided to try Margaritaville for lunch. OMG. Don't over order. We got nachos and a chicken quesadilla and we were stuffed. Couldn't even eat dinner that night.

Bahamas:
We've been here before and we actually like it despite the bad reviews. Great sail in, and always marvel at how they spin the ship around and back it in.
We just walk to Junkanoo beach. Not a great beach, but close by and the water is nice.

We did the Rebel Yell/ NCL Escape to JVD in January. It was amazing and we returned about 10 minutes later that required by the ship. Of course, since it was an NCL excursion, the ship waited. Had it been a private company, we would have been spending more time in Tortola...
