Hello. We just booked a honeymoon cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas and were assigned an Oceanview cabin -- the forward-most cabin on Deck 2... 2508. We thought it would be private.
It's a 10 night cruise over Easter.
Good choice? Any experience?
Thank you!
Congratulations on your nuptials! I have stayed on Deck 2 on Enchantment which I believe is the Grandeur's sister ship. We stayed mid ship and it was very quiet and not much motion detected. I am booked on the Grandeur for April 2016 on Deck 2 in a Panoramic OV cabin mid ship. I think it will be private as the only people down on deck 2 are usually staying or working on deck 2. I think there is a website that allows you to put in ship and cabin number and it will tell you if there are any concerns with the cabin and it's location. Perhaps someone more in the know then myself would be able to post the website address so you can check your cabin number out. Enjoy your honeymoon!

Does anyone know when new saving certificates will be posted on R.C. website?

There is so much work involved in preparing for Christmas I think it is nice the longer it lasts. ;) IMHO

Thanks so much for the quick responses. I think I may try the JS the next time I book! Love CC!

Do you get double C&A points when booking a Junior suite?

How do you find the e-mail address? I called a while ago and they told me the same thing that you have to wait to get on board.

We booked 6290. From the deck plan below, I think we are okay. We have a big wall on the side, but by the picture, it looks like a rather large balcony?
Sorry didn't see your post. That definitely looks like a nice balcony to me. It is still on my sailing according RC site. I may have to switch.:)

6290 looks like a nice big balcony. I wonder how bad the obstruction is on that cabin?
-
Absolutely! I take 12 classes a week and I love it! I will miss it on my upcoming Allure cruise!
Whoa that is a lot of Zumba classes a week!

From the looks of one of the renderings it's not showing much of anything blocking it. So I am not real sure. Plus we will be next to a non obstructed room so I am guessing its not going to be bad.
Yes I would have to agree! :) Let's hope we are right!

I just booked cabin 6160 as it seemed best choice of the obstructed cabins. By what the RCCL rep said all the cabins are 50% obstructed just from not being able to see the view right below. Not too much of a big concern for us though.
I wonder why 6160 is obstructed. I do not see any lifeboats in that area.

That is 2 different decks...........6 and 5
Jimbo:)
Thanks Jimbo for confirming that.

Is this all on deck 6 or is one deck 5 too? My TA said the excursion desk and photo booths were below deck 6.
All on deck 6_

That's a good question. I am not sure what she was looking at. I am in cabin 6182 and if you look at the deck plan it does show that there is only a lifeboat on one side not the other. So maybe that is what she was referring to.
-
My TA told me it was 50% obstructed. She said there were others on that deck but they were 75% obstructed.
-
I did the same thing and booked this DO instead of OV. Mine is 50% obstructed. For the slight price difference it will be nice having the balcony for extra room and fresh air at the very least! I am booked on the 3-1-15 cruise.

Does anyone know if the Ovenviews on Deck 9 & 10 are Forward or Aft?
-
@Narrow56 - good to know about the daily mass. I will have to look into that one as I am going on EOs in November
Drink Package, $48 good price?

Price I’m seeing is $51. Hoping it would be lower for Black Friday.
