Has anyone ever packed a very small coffee maker and made your own coffee in your stateroom?

I have been reading different posts about having to pay for brewed coffee (not specialty coffee drinks). I know soda is extra, but coffee??? I haven't been on a cruise in 5 years, so I may be out of the loop!

Thanks, everyone! I think I will pick up the Thermacare products. You have been very helpful and kind...

I hadn't thought of a heating pad...great idea! Thanks for all of the replies.

I have chronic neck pain and use a heat pack that I heat in a microwave for pain relief. It keeps me from taking pain medication. I know there are no microwaves in the staterooms. We'll be on the Grand for an AK cruise in a few weeks. Any suggestions for getting my heat pack warmed up? Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I know about MUTS, but is there a movie theatre on the Grand? If so, is there a way to find out what movies will be shown during our cruise (5/25-6/1)? Thanks!

Hello Cruise Critic Wise Ones! We've decided to take our second Inside Passage cruise to Alaska on 5/25/14. We will be going to the same ports and want to do something different from our last cruise. The following are shore excursions we are considering: Ketchikan-Misty Fjords & Wilderness Explorer Cruise or Back Country Jeep & Canoe Safari. Juneau-Dog Sled Summer Camp or Whale Watching. Skagway-Eagle Preserve Rafting & Wildlife Quest or Haines Wilderness River Adventure. What are your recommendations, please? Also, last trip we had good luck with independant operators which cost less than Princess shore excursions. Any advice there? Thank you so much!

Well, we leave on Saturday for Seattle to board the Grand on Sunday for a RT Alaska cruise. In reading reviews for the Grand I've noticed many have said she is looking old and tired, but didn't she just come out of dry dock in Jan. 2014? Doesn't that mean she's been spiffed up and in ship shape? I am not picky but I like clean and things to be in working order. When I think of the amount of money we have paid I so hope the ship will be a pleasure to be on! I am looking to you knowledgable cruise veterans for advice and/or reassurance. Thanks!
