We got off Royal Clipper yesterday, once you pay your bill in Tropical Bar they return your passports, you can then leave the ship. The luggage was left outside cabin night before and collected ashore in Venice.

Kittloveswater whilst we don't want to join your trip (sorry) here is a hello [emoji113]🏻 from shipmates! Not long now before the trip, we are having 3 nights in Rome prior to the cruise And two in Venice at the end. This 'board' is usually quiet but I'm sure they will be many on board!

You can buy your cosmetic lotions and potions 'airside' and then their is no problem. I'm travelling tomorrow to Portugal and have already pre-ordered liquid baby food and sun cream to be picked up at the pharmacy airside at London Luton. Already paid for just go to check out to collect. Simples!

We (europeans) don't generally wear sports trainer type shoes unless actually going to the gym but that doesn't mean you can't wear them! I would say that city destinations will find men wearing long trousers (pants) but in holiday resorts i.e. Palma you would find men wearing shorts and T shirt or polo shirts. If you go into restaurants in the evening I would expect the men to be wearing long trousers and a shirt with short sleeves i.e with a collar, but not a polo.

Do we have mosquitos? Yes. Can you defend against them? Yes.
I am heading to Europe next week--despite the increasing terrorist attacks. Mosquitos seem less of a risk in comparison.
Guess it depends on whether you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. I don't think young people in that category would be prepared to take the risk.
I live in Europe - I don't consider myself any more risk or terrorist attack than anywhere else in the world ;)!

UK travellers are advised my the Government to avoid Florida, many travel agents are now offering change of destination for those affected.
-
Many UK Travel Companies are offering destination changes to booked holidays if this Zika Virus might affect your decision to travel.

We have a home in Portugal and it is necessary to carry photo id i.e. your Passport at all times.

We used to use them regularly to France when we had our house there and their was no alternative. They are Strict - stick to the size - or find another airline! They are good when there are no problems, if there are problems, i.e. strikes by air traffic control , they are not always as helpful as they might be.

Sorry can't help! I'm sure that someone will be able to though....

I wouldn't do it. I would be thinking I looked ridiculous, but if you are happy to, carry on, but don't be upset with what other people think! By asking the question maybe you aren't so confident with the idea?

It looks good, but I don't think I can persuade my other half to take the looong flight! I shall have to work on him .....

Living and travelling regularly around Europe we always tip, maybe not as you do in the US but nevertheless if you have good service it is nice to show your appreciation. However, if the service is bad then we won't tip.

We cruised on Star Flyer and enjoyed it very much, looking forward to trying Royal.

We decided to go for 250 in the end, the difference can go towards our pre-cruise stay in Rome... and post-cruise in Venice. I'm sure we will be very comfortable :D

We are looking to return to Star Clippers this time on the Royal Rome-Venice June 2017. Currently have Cabin Cat 2 no 234 reserved, however also considering a Cat 3 maybe 250 or 248 (has fixed double) anyone been in any of these cabins care to advise?

And do you suppose that those of us who live here don't have designer bags????
As a previous poster said - it won't be the bag that makes you look like a tourist:)
Us Europeans carry designer bags we don't think we are going to be mugged when we walk about. However, when we are in crowded places cities etc we make sure we are aware and take precautions. We wear our jewellery, we wear our diamonds - the sky doesn't fall in on us and we are not mugged every day! Being in Europe is the same as being on any other Continent in the world! Lol :D;)

Yes, underwire..... we call it boned in UK!!
-
Also think about your 'underwear' when we fly 'long haul', I always wear a bra without a bone (normally wear a boned bra), as often flying overnight and trying to sleep with the girls hitched up becomes uncomfortable!

We walked to Governors Beach on our trip in January and got talking to a local guy raking the beach who informed us that there would soon be sunbeds delivered.... We were the only one's there - it was perfect.:D

We were not alone in not knowing this was Dancing with the Stars at Sea themed. Every person we spoke to both American and Canadian had not been informed either. Had we known we would have not gone at this time.
-
Grand Turk we walked to Governors Beach. San Juan we downloaded a guided walk from the internet - it was very good. St Martaan we just walked the Boardwalk and went to the beach. Half Moon Cay - beach again... We were escaping the English winter and the beach was good for us!
