  1. We are looking to book a 4 night Bahamas cruise for my wife and I to take our niece and nephew with us for their graduation present in June of 2020. We are looking for some specific cabins so I wanted to book as soon as the schedule comes out.

Does anyone know how far in advance the schedule of cruises will come out for dates after April of 2020? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

  2. I wanted to see if anyone has had an issue similar to mine and if there is any advice I can get.

We are leaving on Freedom out of Ft. Lauderdale on November 25 for an 8 night cruise. Since my wife booked this trip and didn't check the dates I had to let her know that the 25th is the Ohio State/Michigan game that starts at noon and the Big Ten Championship Game on December 2. I am concerned that we wont be able to see the game in any of the ship's bars or entertainment venues.

I was wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this and if the ship was able to help out viewing the game. If not, are there any suggestions on how to watch the game on the ship

  3. We are going to be in an aft Superior Ocean View room on Freedom leaving the day after thanksgiving, 2017. A group of us has 3 adjoining rooms and we are all chomping at the bit to get there! Your pics and posts are great and make us look forward to it even more

  4. Thanks for all of the help. I am going to record it because.....well I record it every year. But this year I will just as a backup plan.

I have the app for ESPN and every major network so I am hoping we can just stream it and worry about the data rates later. THE game should be manageable using our data, then I will have to figure out how to see the Big Ten Championship game from the ship in the middle of the Caribbean.

  5. A group of us will be traveling on FOS leaving Port Everglades on November 24, 2017. That is fantastic but unfortunately when I let my wife plan the cruise she didn't see that the 24th is the Ohio State vs. that school up north game at noon.

I HAVE to watch that game every year and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to make sure that I can watch it. Obviously we will check the pool to see what game they will be showing on the big screen and also the bars on the ship to see which ones they will be showing but I want to have a back up plan in case the worst happens.

Has anyone tried the DirecTV app to watch a game on FOS or SlingBox or any other means of watching it on a laptop or tablet? Any help that I can get will be greatly appreciated.

    Go Bucks!!

  6. My wife and I are scheduled to sail on FOS in November for a celebration cruise. While I have purchased and enjoyed the drink packages in the past my wife has never done so. This cruise she is looking to cut loose and so she purchased the deluxe drink package along with me.

However, she has read that the drink prices have increased to the point that she would have to pay a buck or two for her favorite drink, a Moscow Mule or Raspberry Mule.

While there are several posts regarding drink prices I wanted to set her mind at ease by posting this question: has anyone been on FOS in 2017 who can tell me definitively the price of either or both of these drinks.

    Thanks for all your help.

  7. We are going on a western Caribbean cruise in a few months and I always like to stock up on liquor when I am on cruises due to some of the amazing prices they offer. My go-to place is in St. Maarten but we will not be there on this cruise.

    I have a few questions:

    1) are prices better in general on liquor in Belize or Cozumel?

    2) does anyone have the name of any stores in those cities they like to go to for their liquor purchases?

    3) since I drink scotch, does anyone have experience in buying scotch in these ports? I know these countries are not known for scotch but I thought I would give it a try anyway.

    Thanks

  8. I spoke with a Royal Caribbean representative yesterday about the $55 drink package. After some in depth questions and specific drink questions (after dinner cordials, scotch, etc) he told me this: "The easiest way for me to describe it is this...it includes everything except BOTTLES of wine. The $10 price limit on cocktails and $12 on glasses of wine is a credit of that amount for the drink types. If you go over that limit you pay the difference. Cordials after dinner are included as are the tips for the wait staff."

I know this is what they say on the phone and what may actually take place is a different story.

We have no doubt that we will make out on the deal on our cruise. We have a group of 12-15 people going to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. And on top of that we will be on the private island CocoCay on St. Patrick's Day.
