  1. I agree I have booked cruises with carnival and royal this will be my first celebrity cruise and I have never had so much miscommunication. Every time I call I get a different answer. I hate that I can never call the same person back either. I will say thats one thing carnival has done right, you get to speak to the same person all the time and that makes a big difference in communication.

  2. I would recommend a light jacket. We just got off of the Summit on sunday and it was in the high 40's and raining. until Saturday morning it was in the 70's outside (we passed thru a cold front on our passage from Bermuda to Bayonne).

    Steve

Thanks for the info! How were your first 2 days at sea? Were you able to get outside and felt warm enough for bathing suits?

  3. I am having a hard time wading through all the post about summit and I am hoping some recent cruisers can answer a few questions for me!

    1. Does anyone have a picture or know a link to the menus? specifically the childrens menu options?

    2. What is the current nightly entertainment? Who,when, what etc

    3. Cigars- Is there a cigar lounge on this ship or can they be smoked on balconies?

    4. Any info on the family verandahs would be great! We just upgraded tonight and info you have from staying in one would be appreciated!

    Thanks for your help!

  4. It would take about 35 minutes. It would cost about $35 for a taxi for 1 to 4 passengers. If you take a taxi you need a plan for your return. Don't count on taxis being there to take back. So arrange the taxi to come back for you. Or take the bus back. Another option if you have mobility is to walk along the beach and beach trails back from Warwick to Horseshoe to get a taxi at Horseshoe. It is a very scenic walk.

    Thank you!!

  5. How many wall outlets are there in a suite typically? We are sailing on the conquest in a suite, and we have an infant so we want to be able to plug things in for ourselves as well as her. Is there a policy on extension cords? I seem to remember something about them being confiscated? Thanks

  6. You would need to take a taxi to Blue Bay (about 10 - 15 minutes away by car), there are no beaches within walking distance of the ship.

There will be lots of taxis at the pier when you get there to take you to the beach, no need to pre-arrange a beach visit.

Thanks! So do you book Blue Bay through the resort?

  7. This might sound dumb but how do you book private excursions? Like if we wanted to go to Blue Bay? Is that close enough to the port to walk? Do you book the day pass through a company or through the resort? It would be 5 of us including an infant so we want something close and easy to get back to the ship if we need to! We are used to doing excursions through the ship so Im just not sure how to go about booking my own! Thanks!

  8. Hey guys so we are in a tight squeeze and needing to change our current plans and might be changing from RCL to Carnival. I don't have time to sit and look through all the posts so I need help understanding what carnival offers for infants. Do they offer any thing geared towards infants like the royal tots program RCL offers? Toy Lending? Infant pool area that allows diapers like RCL? Can I order diapers or baby food through their services? Thanks for any help and quick responses! Trying to change with in the next couple of hours!

  9. we are coming from the richmond area. I called and checked out the hilton you suggested yesterday and for 229 we can do the park stay cruise deal that includes the shuttle and leaving our car for 10 nights. Basically we would be paying 30 bucks for the room when you look at what it costs to park at the port. my DD won't need a bed so a standard room should work just fine as we will just be using her pack and play or she will sleep in the bed with us that one night.

we did look at the hotel in cranbury but my MIL is worried about parking at the port (safety of vehicles, traffic, construction?). I would like to be able to leave as soon as we get back so i think we will talk with her more about that option. thanks so much for your input as we are not at all familiar with the area!

  10. We are looking for a decent hotel that offers Park and Cruise for May 20th. We have 4 adults and 1 child. Budget is flexible, preferably with restaurant on site or something very close by. Has anyone stayed at the country inn and suites Newark airport? Also, do most park and cruise hotels charge you for transfer to the port?

    Thanks for any help!!
