I went up to the Spa today and asked. They said they have a "whirlpool" holding up to 8 people. No other pool.

It will be open in time for its first cruise from Miami. Word has it that it might be open before the end of this TA.

THANK you so much for taking the time to check!  This definitely helps me decide if the Thermal Suite is worth it (or not) for our sailing.

They sent is an email saying it wouldn't be for the TA

Thanks so much for the updates!  I'm on the Joy in June and would be interested to know if the new Thermal Suite will have any type of pool.  I know it's not open yet, but is there any info on what is included for when it is operational?  I'm pretty sure it does NOT (which is a shame) but just checking to be sure.

Thanks for all of the helpful information!

  3. 🤔  Sailing HAL for the first time in a LONG time in late March, as they are the only option West Coast then (that I would do).  After many Celebrity cruises...and as a wine by the glass person who loves FRENCH wine (GOOD French wine)...I'm a bit concerned by this menu.  I have the Elite package. Celebrity had a ton of good French options by the glass (with the additional upcharge from their top beverage package for some wines) and I was all good with that.  Maybe I'm reading this all wrong, but hoping that Kendall Jackson and the other brands on the Elite wine by the glass list are not ALL that is offered?  I don't want to buy a bottle of wine when I have the Elite package and want the better wines that are on the bottle list...but by the glass.

    Am I reading this wrong?

  4. Loving this!  You are in my neck of the woods, and I'm on the Solstice in a suite in three weeks!  I love your adventures, and as the parent of a (now adult) neurodiverse daughter, I applaud your wisdom and insights as you navigate your adventures with her.  I have some war stories from my travels with mine at that age, but had many, many more AMAZING trips with wonderful memories.  You (and she) will look back on these days with big smiles, for sure.  Enjoy!

  5. Charla, it was great to very briefly meet you on embarkation day at the Sunset Bar!  I've loved reliving the cruise through your pictures.  I recognize so many of the wonderful servers (LOVED that picture of Kay, he knew my room number and order after the first day, LOL).  I loved the cruise so much I just booked for next April on the Solstice.  Blessings to you as you plan for your future cruises!

Do people check the stupid app every day?  I don't get it. Why would I want to keep checking? Are people just looking for problems?  It seems that most of the folks who suddenly find things messed up find that they are back how they used to be in a few days. People are stressing way too much over this stupid app. Lots of folks don't even have smart phones or have older devices that won't work properly with the app and they just check in at the pier. There are way more important things to worry about than the app. Of course, having said that, I keep stressing about the uncertainty of the stupid testing.

People who are about to cruise may still be making dining reservations (or changing them) or checking out the onboard activities.  Or they got an email reminder today saying they need to complete all the online check-in stuff that they KNOW they already did, and go to check...and the app is messed up.  🙄

My app, which was complete except for the health portion for our Saturday cruise, and in the green lane, has now gone to yellow and keep cycling off and on. I can’t do anything with it.  What now?????

YEP, me too.  Let's hope it's a glitch they are working on...

The “link a booking” option was designed to assist when your credentials successfully logon, but the specific sailing does not appear.  In theory you can add the booking number and bingo, the medallion app links to your cruise   Then you can become ocean ready.

IF however, like me, your Princess account has some hidden, background corruption issue the medallion app will not find your cruise even with the link booking method .  I was told that this problem behavior is frequently, but not always,  seen when a passenger has a cancelled cruise in their background.

you will find that the medallion navigators, when you call their 800 number, cannot fix this problem.  Instead they write it up and escalate.

I first called 60+ days before embarkation. Called another 14 times in the following weeks. Issue got fixed 3 days before sailing.

Call it “OceanBug” rather than “OcaneNow”

My app just crashed.  Sailing on Sunday.  Hoping it is transient  (all was working fine earlier today) but just in case...what 800 number did you have for the Medallion Navigators?  When I had an issue on a previous cruise no one knew the Medallion App support phone number.  Sigh.

    Thanks for any info!

The issue with doing it this way is that I'll be charged for the new one, and then have to wait for a refund for cancelling the old one.

And isn't there a rule that I need to cancel outside of 7 days to get a refund?

I have the same issue with trying to add another couple to our already reserved and paid for specialty dining reservation.  There is no way to "modify" it like you can a main dining reservation.  We play to try for the best on the ship to see what can be done.

Your travel agent should charge your credit card through Princess though. Your credit card statement should say "Princess" and not "travel agent company name".

YES.  And to the original poster,  your TA should be providing you with a guest copy of every Princess confirmation showing your payments and balance due, in addition to any agency confirmation they send.  Just ASK if  you have questions...that is what the TA is for!  😊

  11. Considering what the CEO of Carnival said in his interview with Cruise Critic, I think it's highly unlikely that the ships will be sailing in August.  They are basically denying that they even SAID that, when in fact that's what they said they were planning:

In early May, the line issued a news release that seemed to detail a return to service on August 1, starting with eight ships out of three ports. In reality, that announcement was more meant to note that additional voyages had been canceled, Donald said -- but that's not how consumers and the media interpreted it.

"It wasn't a pronouncement that we were going to come back August 1," he said. "We're waiting to see how things evolve and develop."

What made the mistake so insightful is that bookings for those August cruises "went through the roof," Donald said. "They just jumped at that point, showing the pent-up demand there is. … Starting out, it's unlikely that we're going to have a demand challenge whenever we do start sailing again, whether it's August 1, prior to that or later."

So if August 1 isn't the official return date, what is? "The world is going to tell us," Donald said. "Destinations are going to open when they decide to open. It's not going to be us telling them. The things that are going to drive that is the citizens' relative appetite for risk and the extent to which they've experience COVID-19. … We'll just have to see where it goes, but the destinations are going to rule the day."

We received it in the spam folder, but it also had a warning on the message to be careful that the message may be used to steal personal information.  Did other people receive their reply from this email:  no reply@qemailserver.com?

Yes, that is the sending email address.  It's just an overactive spam filter from your mail server.  No personal information (that they don't already have) is being stolen.

lolane,   I tried that and the page came up 400 BAd Request.   I tried again and    Technical difficulties comes up.

Ella, I know my TA well, and I know she is so frustrated that I want to give her a few days to relax from the panic of her clients that canceled..

I completely respect that you are being so understanding of your TA!  😊  It IS an extremely crazy time right now.  Hopefully the consumer side glitches will get resolved for you.

  14. The consumer site shows the no pricing available info, but the TA site does show pricing and availability (at least on the ones I was looking at).  I checked on this yesterday.  Have not tried to make any new bookings through the TA site, but it does the pricing.

And yes, the TA industry is reeling right now.  Try your TA again.  He/she may be happy to start getting NEW bookings.  Good luck with your plans!
