We have done both Pirates and South Shore. Highly recommended south shore. Beautiful and felt very safe. Pirates was not as scenic, and had the longest zip line first so the rest of the zips felt anticlimactic. South Shore wad the reverse - start small and work your way up to large. The Pirates guides also did not listen to our preferences (they asked if we wanted a wild ride- aka they bounce the line by pulling up and down on it. We said no. They did it anyways). South Shore offered a zip and beach package

Thanks for the reply. I am leaning towards south shore.

There are absolutely beautiful beaches in West Bay. The water is crystal clear. I'd book a freestyle tour with Rony. He can take you to South Shore Canopy(Sooo fun) and then down to the beach. This would be a great day!
Thanks for the reply. We are actually considering South Shore for zip lining. Then a trip to the beach.

Most companies have zip line and beach combo. Just not sure which is best. Reviews can be mixed. Any recommendations? The zip line at port is a little expensive, so is it better than West Bay Area?

Going on Carnival Magic - March 2017. Would like to do zip line and beach. There seems to be many zip line companies in Roatan. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Fascination docks at Havensight. Next to Senor Frogs. And each port you are the only ship in port. Enjoy.

We were on this cruise last week. I didn't mind the ship. I actually liked the smaller size and less crowds. And we have sailed Dream and Breeze. Trip was great. Staff was excellent. Don't pass on this itinerary because of the ship.

Does anyone have any experience using Apple Music through ship's wifi? I wanted to try it on Sunshine next month.

We will be going on the Glory (April 23rd) with Martin Aucoin preforming in the Piano Bar. We have not heard him in our past cruises. Any feed back on him would be appreciated. Many thanks. John F. :)
Not too good. Sorry.
We had him on Imagination a few years ago and ended up talking to him every night because the piano bar was empty. Nice guy though.

I always send an email about a week from embarkation. I never receive a reply, but we always get what we requested. So yes, it does work.

I used the Whatsapp texting feature on my last 3 cruises and it worked great. Both to husband at home and kids on the ship.
You can text people off the ship too?

We bring a battery operated LED tap light. It works perfect.

When we were in Tortola last month, the restaurant on Virgin Gorda was playing the Sirius Hits One channel. I was surprised.

We visited with Tommy last week on the Liberty. He will be on the Liberty until mid-May and then will return this summer on the Victory for his last contract with Carnival. He's retiring. Wonderful person and great bartender.

The Carnival Liberty docked at the pier on 3/28. They had to install wood ramps to accommodate the gangway. Only one side of the pier is open. The other side of the pier is still under construction. The Oceania was there also and they had to tender.

A few years ago we rented a car from Budget at the pier. We explored the island and then went to Sapphire Beach. The steering wheel is on the same side as the mainland, but you drive on the left side of the street. Makes turns interesting.

We're here! Super excited! We were suppose to be in the Amber Palace Theater at 10:45, as we booked the Carnival excursion titled "St.John Trunk Bay Beach Break and Snorkel Trails", but I didn't want to miss our arrival. We quickly headed down, only to realize that we had to wait 20 minutes to get off. I found this absurd, why couldn't we just meet somewhere? I understand the strong desire to get everyone off the ship who has to meet an excursion, but really this was just stupid.
Did you feel that the excursion was too short? I have heard others say the time at the beach was not long enough.

Anyone cruise and have heard Barry Meijer? He's on the Liberty for my next cruise.
Anyone have information on Barry? Thanks.

According to post # 1199, Jason was supposed to be on the Freedom till mid February. Was looking forward to hearing him. I assume he told you firsthand that his contract was only for a month and he was leaving the ship. No matter who replaces him though, no one can ever compare to Ron Pass, IMHO.
Yes, it's true. Jason's last performance was Friday 11/28. The crew had a little farewell for him and they were all sad to see him go especially Jen the cruise director. He said he was heading to the west coast to work on some things. Maybe someday he will come back.

Too bad Jason Libs only had a one month contract with Carnival. I really enjoyed him last week on freedom. He's on to bigger things. Just goes to show that you can have a real good time when the player doesn't use any foul language or needs to play those quirky songs. I wish the best for him. Maybe one day he'll be back.
