  1. Water slides : I don't do water slides but hubby and my daughter did them and said they were awesome . It's does get really slippery by the slides and by the pools, so be really careful.

The rock wall was a hit also . It is open usually last afternoon so try it out you will love it .

Track and gym : The track is small I reallly don't know why it's set up like that you have to run between people that are just walking by.

Gym : The gym was small but fine for a cruise ship gym. Warm at times tho so be prepared.

The ship is beautiful and big . We still were not able to see every spot of this massive ship .

    I will return later

  2. The bars : Most of the bars were packed most of the cruise . Outside bars by the main pool was always full with lines and people never leaving their seats . The bars inside were better but still always full . The bar by spice was much better. Drinks were weak. I don't drink a lot but the drinks I did drink I never felt buzzed. My hubby started asking for caption rum then a coke, and he would mix it himself .

The main pool : foget getting a chair unless you are up with the birds. That area was packed all day long with I guess the same people . I don't like crowds so I stayed up in spice. We only had a few days of nice weather but the very first nice day I found some chairs and never left them . It was jamming in spice also no chairs left by 11:00

Hot tubs: forget them ! Also I have no idea how people stay in them all day long . We used them at 8:00 am a few mornings but anytime after 11:00 you can't find an open spot in any hot tub ..

I try to write more later

  3. This was our first time on NCL and we loved it ! There were four in my party, myself, hubby and my daughter and her boyfriend. We both had mini suite rooms . My room was 10190 and my daughter's was 10238 both rooms were nice and clean.

Ill try to break it down in chunks.

Embarking : We had a 9:30 arrival time and arrived around 9:00 we waited in line for about 2 hours. We were on the ship by 12:00 . When we boarded the ship everyone was heading to get something to eat so we followed them to the buffet.

Buffet food : I thought the buffet food was great, they have the same foods through- out the cruise, but also added some new item everyday . All in all it was good.

One thing I loved about this ship is they have cleaning dispensaries all over the ship, especially where the food is . Also they are always in the entrances with spay bottles saying " washie washie " and they spray your hands before you even enter . ( in my case , and only my case this did not work because I ended up getting sick with a horrible sore throat , sinus infection, and a ruptured ear drum ) , but again that was just me and the ship was very very clean in all areas .

All the restaurants were great and had great food , but all three dinning rooms had the same food tho . A little weird but hey at least no one was fighting over eating at one place or another. We NEVER had any problems getting seated at anytime we went., and we went for breakfast , lunch and dinner a few times thought out the cruise . All the food was great.

O" Sheenan"s had great burgers , really ! and there wings were awesome too.

We never got to get at the noodle place :(

Uptown they had great burgers and fries also

Fee restaurants were awesome ! Every meal was perfect .

I'm still fighting my illness so ill write more tomorrow when I have more engery and my brain doesn't hurt.

Any questions so far ask away

  4. They have 2 mini suites and wondered there'd be a better solution to give them more space... answer: (hopefully this is correct) spa balcony/mini suites not more spacious and no other type of suite on BA so.... stick with the mini suites and you'll be fine... I understand what it's like to obsess at this point..

Try to relax and enjoy your cruise...[/quote

Your absolutely right! And yes I think I'll stay put abd stop stressing about the room !

  5. We need two rooms . I was just wondering if there were better rooms that upsell would do for the two rooms . I can't afford the haven for two rooms. I'm sure The mini suite will be fine, but boy I would love a bigger balcony or maybe the spa ..

I just need this cruise to hurry up so I stop looking for every little thing . Lol

  6. We are in a mini suite (2 rooms for me & hubby and my daughter and her boyfriend ). Originally we had a guaranteed balcony, but the priced dropped and we ended up with the mini suite . I was wondering what other options do I have if I call the upsell number ? I can't afford to upsell two rooms in the haven so I was looking for any info on others rooms . Or do I just leave well enough alone ?

    14 more days 😍

  7. Ann, will you be joining us on Breakaway on the 15th?

    >> Updated, I just looked at the Roll Call and you guys are our neighbors, we're from N Brfrd! See you guys on board! [emoji3]

I have to echo everyone's comments. This really is a shame. I read toward end of 2015 on various threads here about the line transitioning to this "higher end" model with all fresh refurb (paint wallpaper and light fixtures) ships, but at the cost of more a la carte and less in terms of product (like Uptown Grille) to the customer. I fear this is indeed a reality and perhaps the beginning of this movement. Let's hope not. After shelling out the $$$$$ for the experience and cruise, I don't want to have to bring my wallet to almost every restaurant for a lunch like a standard hotel resort. If I were the competitor, I'd be taking note of this and capitalizing on it. As loyal as I am to the brand and our local home away from home ship (see my screename) If this trend were to continue, I'm sad to say the "Allure" from across the harbor in Bayone would be calling my name, and I might just answer. Not there yet, but if this trend continues, the paint, wallpaper, floors and light fixtures won't be the experience I want to pay for.

    Having said that,

21 more days!!! Maybe we will see Ann joining us for one last Burger and Salad!

Yes we will be at the meet and great neighbor !

And I'll be at uptown hopefully so I can get my burger . I have been dieting for 3 months now. I WANT a burger! Lol

We are new to NCL but not new to cruising and from what I'm reading I'm kinda getting worried but hey I'll give it a try and I'll still be on vacation so that's all that matters .

I'm looking forward to meeting and making some cruising friends.

What time are you going ? We have the 9:30 checking in at the dock 😁 see everyone there !

    Ann😄

  8. Do we have a "When"

My BA cruise is on May 15th and hopefully I'll be able to get one of those burgers everyone is raving about.. Knowing my luck, I wont. Its not a cruise breaker by any means but after reading on the boards, my expectations were high and it will suck that I cant get a really good burger at sea.

We are on the same cruise and I have been dieing to try the burger also . Maybe its just talk right now , and it will be awhile before the change . * fingers crossed*

  9. Was assigned my cabin last night for my 05/15 BA sailing from NYC.

Was assigned 13802 which is a mid-ship MA category. Rate for that cabin is currently much higher than the Guarantee Mini Suite rate I paid so I guess I made out well. Looks like I am right next to the Splash Academy

Still thinking about trying for an upsell to the Haven though

Great !!! :D I'm glad the assignment are starting to come now , it's been a long wait ;)

  10. Well I am able to see my Edocs today, but no room yet.

My Edocs say boarding at Terminal C. Does anyone know if this could still change once my room is assigned? I thought I read before that boarding is split up in 2 different terminals by odd and even number decks.

I'm just curious because we are cruising with another couple and they also have a guarantee balcony booked and we hope we get to board at the same terminal.

I'm sorry but I don't know the answer but I would imagine anyday now for your assignment.

  11. I dont smoke , but my daughters boyfriend does . So I said I would try to find out if he can smoke on the ship .

Can you smoke and where can you smoke e-sigs on the ship ??

    Room ? Balcony ? Etc.

  12. OP - no problems with noises from the elevators running, it's behind the walls & from what I know, sound insulation is very good ... loud adults running up & down at 2 AM, that's another story & not much you can do, from anywhere on a ship.

As noted, close to the Fwd stairs & elevators are definitely a plus ... during embarkaton & disembarkation and tendering ports - you might find it a bit harder to get into the elevators as some are "reserved" or held for Haven guests' exclusive access. We're on deck 10 Fwd last year & generally just walk down to 6-7-8.

It's configured to sleep 4 (1 pullman from the ceiling drop + day sofa converted) - the "living" area around the sofa is a little bigger/roomier - same for the king bed pushed together from 2 single. Not sure if that's next to the closet, if it is - a little extra elbow room as we had to sit on the bed to get things in & out of the closet. Plus, the bigger bathroom as noted already - and, a "cozy" regular sized balcony with room for 2 ... only.

Thank you for the information I really appreciate it :)

  13. You're around the corner from the elevators, so unless there's a very loud group gathered and yammering away, you won't hear much of anything. We were in 11182 last year which is closer to the elevator lobby, and we only heard people once all week. The convenience far outweighs the noise concerns.

    Good to know . Thanks

    Thats great :)

I'm 31 days out and my e docs are available to click on but there is an error. I think I read that happened to someone else right before 30 days. I'll check again tomorrow. Maybe the room # will be on the e docs. :p

Yes that happened to me last week, but the next day they were there . So keep looking ;)
