Sailing from Singapore (3 days pre cruise) to Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Should I get local currency for odds and ends while on tours or maybe just for pre cruise stay in Singapore? Or are US $$ readily accepted everywhere.

I am wondering the same. I am taking US$ for tours booked in Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh as this is what they have asked for. If US$ are readily accepted then I will take extra for bits and bobs. For Bangkok the tour company requires payment in Thai Baht and for Hong Kong I am planning on purchasing an Octopus Card but I believe this has to be purchased using HK dollars

Do you think any tenders would go directly to Nha Trang Vinpearl Amusement Park? I see that boats are one of the ways you can get to the resort (It would be nice and handy). I promised my young daughter we would go for the day.

Are you able to walk to the port gate in Nha Trang?

On Hong Kong to a Singapore cruise , taking in Nha Trang, HCM and Bangkok. Will I need different currencies or will I be able to get by with ATM's?

We will be on Ovation of the Seas on 14November visiting Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok. I am not sure about what sort of clothes to pack. Will I need "summer. clothes". I am aware shoulders and legs will need to be covered in certain places- help!!

Oh dear, why do TA's put you in hotels that are not in good locations - I'm guessing cost has a lot to do with it! I have already changed the hotel they arranged pre-cruise in Hong Kong and paid an extra £80 pp so don't really want to pay extra to change this Hotel.

Hello there. We are staying at Elizabeth Hotel for 2 nights post cruise. Could you tell me if this is a good location for sights/cruise terminal/airport?

Thanks for that- you have given me a bit to think about. I have looked at the Sheraton and also the the Eastin Grand which both look good. I am finding this cruise hard work - looking for tours, transport etc - there are so many different things to see and do!

Does anybody have any views on this? Also thinking of staying in hotel on riverside - Is this a good location?

Does anybody have any idea what the cost would be from port into Bangkok. We are hoping to stay overnight in Bangkok and would have to book the cruise transfer on both days. Each day the cost is £35 per adult so to go one day and return the next would cost £140 in total. Would it be cheaper to try and arrange our own transport?

Thank you all for your help. We have now booked the Harbour Grand Kowloon. We have yet to sort out travel from airport to hotel and then hotel to cruise port!!

we have 2 nights in HK pre cruise. The Hotel we have been given by TA is on HK island. Would Kowloon side be better?

Does anybody know if there are magnified mirrors in staterooms on ROS. Don't want to pack one if I can help it but my eyesight is not what it used to be.
