Thank you for you all your input. They are arranging tours for us for the Vatican and Colosseum. I am not worried any more.

I booked my upcoming Rome trip with RomeinLimo. They told me not to buy tickets ahead of time as we will be able to purchase them on the spot. I told them that I didn't want to wait in lines, and they said we wouldn't have to. I trust this reputable company but I am looking for some reassurance/insight cruisecritic community as to why we do not need to purchase tickets for the Vatican and Colosseum ahead of time. Can tour guides skip the line in purchasing tickets?
