  1. Wasn't aware they were offering day passes, but be advised this complex is not located on Seven Mile Beach, but rather on the North Sound side of the island.  The beach here is in noway comparable to Seven Mile Beach and there is nothing else around this location.

  2. The wreck has moved to deeper water after some storm surges and now lists on its side.  There is also little coral or sponge growth yet to take hold on the structure.  In my view, it is a much better dive site than a snorkel destination.  If you want to see a wreck starting about ~20ft below you or if you are able to free dive, it may be worth it.

  3. This place is owned and run by the family that owned the old Tiki Beach beach club on Seven Mile Beach near the the new Kimpton hotel, that was a popular cruise excursion destination.  The building and grounds are a converted villa, once owned by a casino magnate.

As bookbabe stated, it is not on Seven Mile Beach.  The water is technically swimmable, but shallow and the sea floor is hard pan and rock, no sand.  It is better for snorkeling than swimming.  They have a tiny pool, but I'd have to imagine that gets overrun when the tour bus drops the first group of day-trippers off.  There is a small beach area with loungers and they appear to have kayaks and paddle boards available for guest use, not sure if there is a fee.

I have had a few lunches and a dinner here.  The food has been OK, the service a little slow since the kitchen is back in the villa and they have to run it back to the deck.  The set-up for cruise excursions is probably more buffet oriented.

The best thing about the place is that it probably has one of the best over-water settings and views on the island.

If you want a proper beach excursion, I'd suggest taking a taxi or bus to either Calico Jacks/Public Beach or Royal Palms beach club on Seven Mile Beach.  If you've done those already and want to try something different, then maybe give the Whitehouse a try.

  4. Davinoff's sculpture garden is located on Old Robin, not far from the Northern Lights Condos. It is about an hour drive from the Port of George Town. Some tours of the island or East End might happen to stop there, but I do not know for certain.

  5. "Where exactly is Cheeseburger Reef?"

Instead of hanging a right from the terminal (towards Eden Rock & Devil's Grotto), choose left and walk up to the Lobster Pot dive Center near the Lobster Pot and Casanova's restaurants. The dive center can show you exactly where to go for the best reef sections.

  6. Are you allowed to use these ladders to enter the water in this area? We are a fam. of four and we have our own gear. We love to snorkel and are always open fora new adventure.Tks

Sure are. Eden Rock Dive Center has lockers and I think the the Lobster Pot Dive center (near Cheeseburger Reef) does as well. Restaurants would appreciate you also patronize their food and beverage offerings...

  7. The best near port snorkeling is actually located in Hogs Sty Harbour, where the ships anchor. Eden Rock/Devil's Grotto, Cheeseburger Reef and the wrecks of the Cali and Gamma are all located here. The sites are easily reachable from shore, but not off a beach. Many establishments (restaurants, dive shops, etc...) ringing these areas have are ladders for snorkelers and divers to use. Some Seven Mile Beach sections do have pedestrian snorkeling: Governor's Reef off Governor's Beach (near the Westin) has a dead reef, but lots of fish; Cemetery Beach is another popular spot with a slightly healthier reef structure. On the other side of George Town, Smith Cove Bacadere beach has some Elkhorn coral and plenty of fish close to shore as well.

  8. Went in February. Nice boat and very nice crew. Food is very good. Snorkeling wasn't the best. Tour did not go to the destination as planned due to rough seas, so turned out to be pretty expensive for what it was. All-in-all, still a worthwhile excursion.

  9. The long tentacles come out when the squid is hunting and going in for the kill! They are retracted at other times.

Notice the eyes are located at the side of it's head in the picture above.
