 And then there are those of us who, like the OP, merely want to be able to check on our young kids a couple of times during the 8 days we are separated.
OP, we have T-Mobile and had no issues using our phones to call and FaceTime home in all 3 ports we visited (Costa Maya, Belize, and Cozumel). We checked in for a few minutes on our way to our excursions.
YES! Thank you:D

BookFace, Sk-Hype, Viper, Instant-Gram.
How many of these things are around that distract people from getting away from their devices and just enjoy the moment and their vacation.

You seems to have listed quite a few... that allow moms and dads to communicate with their toddlers while on their first trip away from their kids for any length of time.:mad::mad:

You would need the premium package for Skype and FaceTime to work. However, Facebook messenger has a video call function that should work with one of the cheaper packages.
Thanks! I’ll look in to that since that seems to be the cheapest way and then look at the ports for FaceTime maybe.

Is it possible to facetime through the wifi connection with a purchased package? If so, would it require the premium package? Or is the best way to do this through skype?
Thanks in advance for guidance. This will be our first trip away from our toddlers and want to be able to facetime or skype the easiest way possible.

Thanks,,,can't drink that much but I do too...wine is harder on me now...LOL...sarah
Cabin type or area??? Ship quiet enough with all these engine rattle complaints lately? thanks..sarah
We were in 1055 in April... around the same time every night, 10:30-11:00ish there was a extremely loud rattle that lasted 1-2 minutes. Otherwise the room was great.

I will keep checking back on this thread, so thanks for posting. I have to decide by tonight between this ship, the splendor (which will also be in driving distance) or the fantasy (also in driving distance) I know fantasy is old and no upgrades...what about this ship compared to splendor?! Thanks all!
Highly recommend against Fantasy. Went on it 2 years ago and it was horrible then. Old, bad entertainment, small... I have heard good reviews of splendor lately.

Very quiet room....could be a little loud if you are out on the balcony when they are having the deck parties...but inside the room it is quiet.....you'll like it.
Does this room have a mini fridge?

How was the motion of the ocean on this boat? On our cruise board they are talking about how rough it will be without having stabilizers.... I get mildly motion sick if I don't stay on top of taking meds but with it, I'm fine... What can we expect from feeling the motion as compared to the larger ships with stabilizers?

also... on CCL around dinner, they have "photo ops" where photographers are set up to take pictures with backgrounds... do they do this on NCL?
-
We have never cruise NCL & are use to CCL dinner menus... some nights are better for other in the dining room. There is typically a night of steak and another night of lobster. Were there any nights like this on NCL... we want to book a dinner in the moderno but don't want to book it on one of these nights. Thanks!

I feel bad that someone got ripped off by buying Emeralds. Let me say this, most Emeralds are full of inclusions. If you want one without inclusions or very few, you will pay dearly.
That being said, last year on St. Thomas, I bought my wife a Sapphire and Diamond ring that was sold to me in a ship recommended shop (although I didn't know it until the shopping specialist walked into the store). I paid $500 and got it appraised here in North Carolina for over $2400. I think you can get good deals if you know what you're doing.
Just be careful with what you buy. I will tell you what I bought my wife for this years anniversary later in my review. Maybe even a picture or two.
Wow...not only do we have the same room as y'all, we are from North Carolina too! Winston-Salem area...

Weeeird! That's our room for the 12/11-12/22 cruise! Anything we need to know about the room? Is it near any loud multi purpose staff doors or anything? (We got stuck across the hall from one of these on a carnival ship and rarely got sleep bc the door was slamming shut allll night)

I have the dailies for all 11 days, but no clue how to post them here. If you send me an email to risa361@aol.com, I will happily scan and email them to you.
I have emailed you! Thanks

LOL at the number of comments and views on this thread already, with no review content yet!!
Does anyone have any dailies they could share?
Any 2-for-1 early bird specialty restaurant nights?
Counting (rather impatiently) the days until I board the Sun ...
Lol.... I thought the same thing :) can't wait to hear all the details!
