We have cruised both, no comparison Getaway hands down.

Carnival tried this a few years ago and couldn't fill the ship. The Paradise is now same as the rest of the fleet.

I got an email this morning stating that Samsung Note 7 would no longer be permitted on NCL ships. If found they would be confiscated.

I was on the Star last week. There is a decent selection of bottled beers. Miller, Heineken, Dos Equis XX Amber, Mich Ultra, Corona, Landshark in 5 o'clock somewhere, and many others.
As for draft I only saw three: New Castle Brown ale, Heineken and Stella.
The service on the Star was fine also. The longest I waited was < 10 mins at the Bier Garten. Average was about 2-3 mins.
Sounds pretty good to me. We're leaving Sunday, think I can make that work. Thanks for the update.

I booked a gty balcony for 12/13 cruise on the Star two weeks ago, paid in full, filled out online check-in same day. So far I haven't been able to print e-docs. I haven't cruised NCL in 10 years, but other lines I've cruise made e-docs available whenever online check-in was complete and cruise was paid in full. When should e-docs become available?
Thanks, Mike

Hope you remember who this is, my husband and I rode back across on the ferry in Galveston with you and your wife. Thanks for the tip about the ferry it really did save us some time. I figured you would be a Platinum cruiser. I'm planning on being one some day, Aug I'll be half way. I will go back to Mexico I really love it there. If I could afford it I would love to by a house there. Maybe if we win the lottery you and your wife have an invitation to visit anytime. Only a dream though. Take care.

Sure I remember you guys, glad the shortcut saved you some time. We're going to be cruising with Dixie (Astrosfan) again in Jan. We're doing a back-to-back on the Valor and she's sailing on the western caribbean leg. Hope to cruise with you again soon.

We are platinum on Carnival and NCL. We've also cruised most other mass market lines. At this time NCL serves us best. We've sailed Getaway and loved it. Our next two cruises are on Getaway so that should let you know how we feel about the ship...lol.
