You drive in a small van, and go about an hour, up to Montego Bay and then inland for a short distance. One of the Rasta elders meets the group…
Thanks for the details. Do you remember what the cost was and how you signed up for the tour?

I did my all time favorite excursion at Falmouth! Princess offers a visit to a Rastafarian village and it was fantastic!
if you have any interest in Reggae music or the Rasta culture you would love it.
Falmouth itself doesn’t have a lot to offer to American tourists but it’s probably less dangerous than, say, St Louis.MrSchwump, Falmouth is our first port on our February 18, 2024 Panama Canal cruise and some in our group might like to try the Rastafarian village excursion. Please tell us a little more about it. How long did it take to get to the village? What was the cost? What were the best parts of the day? Thanks!

Turtles and Bill, Thank your for your information and inspiration. I see that Princess is offering the ferry and small boat tour that you both recommend.

Thank you so much,Turtles06. Sorry I didn't give you all this information but you guessed correctly! So does if one takes a shore excursion, do they only get to experience the feeling of the ship being raised
but not lowered?

Our cruise is showing excursions for the time period that we go through the canal but not for the time period that we are in Colon. I'm wondering if people actually get off and on the ship while we're going through the canal? That seems odd to me. I guess it doesn't happen while the ship is raised. Can anyone explain the process?

Thanks! I found the documentation.

Thank you for this information.

Help, please.
If my companion buys 100 shares of CCL tomorrow (January 18th), can he apply for and get the $100 Shareholder's benefit on our February 25, 2023 cruise?
PS I own 130 shares and I've already been approved for the Shareholder's credit.

Just received email from NCL that Greneda is being substituted for Bonaire on the March 12th Epic cruise. I came here hoping to find out why.

It is a CATEGORY upgrade, so Interior -> Oceanview -> Balcony. They say it has to be booked within 1 year of hitting diamond for a sailing within 2 years of hitting diamond. From Carnival's website:
One-time complimentary category-type upgrade on applicable booking. Upgrade varies by ship class and is subject to certain category restrictions and exclusions. Does not include upgrade from balcony to suite.
I’m so happy I found this thread. I became diamond in 2016 and used all of the diamond perks for a 15 day 2017 Hawaii cruise EXCEPT the category upgrade.
i just called Carnival to see if I could use it for my booked May, 2020 Radiance Med cruise. The first agent I spoke with said “No”. She said that the promotion linked to my VIFP number must have expired. When I explained that I wasn’t calling about a promotion, but calling about a Diamond perk, she put me through to the Diamond desk where the agent upgraded me from a 6A ocean view to an 8D balcony. This is a significant upgrade. It would have cost us more than $900 if we booked this cabin without the perk. Moreover, the agent told me that if we cancelled this cruise, the perk would be ours to use on another future cruise.
Thank you Carnival!

Great review and thanks for posting it, Mike.
Jerry and I and my son and his girlfriend are booked on the September 30th Majesty OTS which would have given us two days in Havana and a day in Key West. I was lucky enough to have cruised on the Paradise last May but the others have not been there. Havana has been replaced with Nassau and we'll go to Baha Mar or Paradise Island or both. We're sticking with the cruise. We already bought our plane tickets and RCCL has refunded one of the cruise fares so it's a good deal and I'll get to be with family.

Nice pick! Next to balconies, these are our favorite cabins. We'll be in 7202 on our Vista cruise.

My 24th and 25th Carnival cruises are coming up so I searched and found this thread to get Milestone credit info. Then I went to the Carnival website and found more information so I decided to come back and post it here so you could see the 30 day rule and 18 month rule:
Terms and Conditions (in fine print on the bottom of the Milestone letter)
Milestone Reward is valid for its stated value in U.S. dollars, only on Carnival Cruise Line and/or Carnival Australia cruise booking, to be used as a credit on board a ship.
The Milestone Reward is not valid on any other cruise line, including any Carnival Corporation affiliate line. Milestone Reward is nontransferable, nonrefundable and has no cash value.
Milestone Reward must be redeemed at least 30 days prior to sail date and will be applied to the booking on the week prior to sailing.
Only one Milestone Reward is redeemable per guest, per booking.
Booking must be made within 18 months of the date stated on the letter from Carnival's Milestone Desk; there is no specific sailing window.

Found this thread while searching to see if there will be fireworks on our Pride cruise - first cruise for our young grandsons. We'll live without them.
Note: Disney isn't the only cruise line with fireworks. We enjoyed a great fireworks show on our March 2015 cruise on the NCL Breakaway. FWIW, the price for our balcony was the same.

Thanks for the extra input!

Thanks. Our grandsons are 3 Mr. Picky's so maybe we'll go by ourselves and my daughter and SIL can go alone on a different night.
-
Thanks for all the good info. We're going with little ones (6, 8, and 11). Are they children's prices?
-
Thanks so much, Craig and Janet. Nice, fast response!

Can anyone here help me out? I'm trying to find the fees for Izumi, Giovanni's, and the Chef's Table.
Also, what are the daily newsletters that are dropped off in the cabins called?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for the link, LrgPizza. I'd love to cruise out of Cape Liberty again but we'll have to wait for the Anthem too.
-
Thanks, ma.
Going for the first time in March. I just copied your list to my "Breakaway" tips page.

We had absolutely no problem with "cabaña crashers". If you saw the pictures of our view from the cabaña, there was plenty of room for everyone. I can't imagine that anyone would want to park in front of the cabaña area. If I remember correctly there is even a pathway/sidewalk in front of them. And there is also a row of bushes in front that would not allow that.
Good! Now I'll mention it to the rest of the bunch.

Joann,
Six of us, all family, will be going on our March Breakaway cruise and I'm thinking that we may want to get a cabana.
I've read that some people who booked cabanas had problems with others "parking" right in front of their cabanas and even taking their mats and coming into their cabanas. If I remember correctly, this was on another board.
Did you have any problems with "cabana crashers"?
