If you win the upgrade, you will receive a congratulatory email.  Approximately the same time your new cabin number will appear on the app and in the cruise planner.  You will print your luggage tags.  Your eDocs will probably need to update for the new luggage tag to appear; that may be a few hours or overnight.

    Thank you.

  2. UPGRADE POINTS ARE USELESS!

We were told by our travel agent that we could not use the "$500 cruise certificate" and the "100 upgrade point certificate" on the same cruise. We could only use one 100upgrade certificate on each cruise. That is why I say the upgrade points are useless.

  3. We went to our travel agent today to book our cruise. The $500 certificate was not accepted as payment, but the travel agent said she would mail the certificate in to NCL for us and that we should eventually receive a $500 refund to our credit card. We had to pay the total price of the cruise. We have our fingers crossed hoping that we will get the promised $500.

The four 100 point upgrade certificates are trash can liner. They were not accepted at all. The TA said we might ge a "guaranteed" upgrade since we are traveling on our anniversary, but she was unsure.

We have been on 5 NCL cruises, but I guess the end of Compass Rewards frees us up to try other cruise companies.

  4. I just recieved what BOA states is our final certificates. Problem is now I have 5- $100 certificates! What do I do with these???

I have the same question. We received 1 $500 certificate and 4 $100 category upgrade certificates. I know that the $500 will be taken off the total price of the cruise, but since upgrades within the category are seldom $400, are the category upgrades basically useless?

Also, does anyone know about receiving a military veteran rate on NCL? Someone told us that if my husband showed the travel agent his military discharge papers that the rate would be better than the fare for "age over 55" or "Latitudes." Does anyone know about that? Thanks!

  5. No! I had not contacted them...just patiently waited.

Thanks. Guess we will wait another week, and then probably wind up paying full price for this cruise. If we get the certificates too late, then we might just be forced to take two cruises this year! :o)

  6. Today I received my 3 $500. certificates and 3 of the 100 point upgrade certificates. The cover letter said that I had 1,739 points as of 12-31-2008. The letter was postmarked yesterday with a return address of: PO Box 32624, Charlotte, NC 28232-2634

    So I am clear now.

But the best part is this sentance taken from the cover letter:

"This new rewards program will enable you to redeem your points for even better NCL rewards than ever before."

Wonder how they arrived at that conclusion?

Had you sent a letter to BoA?

My husband and I have been waiting for $500 certificate and $100 upgrade. We have called NCL a couple of times and have been told they will send them in a few more days. The problem is that we are waiting to book a cruise for March 1, 2009. We are planning on driving to New Orleans for the Spirit. It is our anniversary week, so we really want to go then rather than wait for a couple of months. Hopefully our certificates will be here next week.

Our travel agent said we would probably still be able to book even a couple of days before. We have taken 6 NCL cruises before, but always booked far in advance. Has anyone ever booked a cruise on the last minute? We are probably going to ask for "oceanview." Thanks.
