    Yes...do a L/S.

Just look on their website so you can see the options you have. I knew exactly what I wanted (same cabins) and the policy that applied which made the call quick and easy.

We did the L/S for 3 cabins we have booked for extended family from May 2021 to April 2022. Our price protection worked out great for us as the pricing for our GS category was much higher for 2022.

They let you move a May 2021 sailing already?  I didn't think that was possible that far out.

Unless things have changed since Jan when we cruised on Harmony, no reservation was made for us for night 1.  I asked about it and was told many people did not want the restaurant that was chosen for them and changed when onboard.  This resulted in distorted inventory for those trying to make changes/reservations.

When you make your reservations, you just need to advise the person taking the reservations  you will have a child along with you and you will be charged accordingly as long as the child orders from the kids menu.  If for some reason, a reservation is made for you for night 1 and it's a restaurant you'd enjoy, just notify the restaurant before the reserved time  there are 3, including a child, and your table will be set properly for the 3 of you.

    Excellent.  Thanks for the info.

I guess what I see on the webpage is different from what you see.  Under the Ultimate Dining Plan ---Additional terms and conditions apply.  Next is taken from that info on the site:   For Dining Packages, It is not required that children 12 and under purchase this product. Children ages 0-5 dine for free and children ages 6-12 will be charged a $10 cover at the restaurant.

That makes sense, but when buying the package, you are able to choose the time for your night 1 reservation.  How will they know to book the three of us, and not just my wife and myself since that is what was purchased?

  4. Hi all,

I tried searching for this, but came up empty.  We are sailing on Harmony in May and we want to get the Unlimited Dining package.  Our daughter will be 6 at that time.  According to the RC website, we need to purchase the package for everyone, but then they will "refund" the price of the package for the child in the form of on-board credit.  Then it says we will pay the $10 cover charge for a child.  I'm fine with the cover, but don't really understand the "pay now, then we give you refund later" part of this.  Has anyone done this before and can clarify the actual process?  Thanks so much...

  5. We decided to book an over-water one now for our May 2020 Harmony cruise, and then see how the pricing fluctuates over the next few months.  It seems to change almost daily lately.  If it goes down, perfect.  If not, then we wait for the reviews in January and make a final decision.  With them being extremely limited, we at least wanted to lock in the option as we see how things progress.

I've just paid £330 for a South Beach Cabana for 8 people - Oasis of the Seas August 2020.  South Beach isn't even opening until December this year apparently so don't even know if its a good deal or not!  No other cabanas being offers on Cruise Planner at this time but wouldn't want to pay any more and not the crazy prices being offers above!!

We just booked the same cabana for $399 USD for Harmony in May 2020.  After seeing all these crazy price changes I at least wanted to get something locked in at a reasonable price and can monitor if it changes or when additional locations get released.

That far out, it's not unusual for the Cruise Planner to not show all available options. When the Planner becomes fully populated seems to vary widely from ship to ship, sailing to sailing.

Both beds and bungalows are still listed here, on Royal's Excursion page for Perfect Day at Coco Cay. Things are, of course, subject change, especially with construction ongoing for several more months.

How far out do they usually populate it?  We are on Harmony in July 2020 and they have the South Beach Cabanas listed, but only saying check on board for availability.  None of the others are listed yet.  We really want to lock one in so I have been checking each day.  Its getting a bit old to do that.

How much do people tip their genies when they get such great service?  I am hoping to be in the Star class one day and don't want to undertip!

We tipped our Genie $100 USD per day.  He did a fantastic job and we felt that was worth it.  I have seen it all across the board based on service.

Allan is fantastic.  We had him a couple of times on Oasis when he was a concierge.  We caught up to him again on Anthem as a genie.  Unfortunately, Allen was not our genie for that trip and had Jay who was a dud.

About to sail now on Symphony today.  Met genie Marla earlier.  I think we will be in great hands with her

We have Jay on our upcoming Med cruise on Oasis.  Curious about your opinion of him.  He has been pretty responsive to emails now, but I'm guessing that is because the ship doesn't have any guests at the moment and they have plenty of time on their hands.

  10. We are about to depart on our first cruise with a Genie and I'm curious if there is a list of them out there somewhere and feedback on each.  We are really excited and have been emailing our Genie, but knowing who is on what ship and what experiences people have had would be great.  Kind of like how the CDs are kept track of.

I have been in an Aquatheater suite where during port days they were jackhammer'ing away all day working on resurfacing the dive platforms....so I know first hand that noisy repairs and such can occur during sailings.

We are on the May 12 cruise in an Aqua Theater Suite on Deck 8.  We are very concerned that our balcony was damaged and there could be issues.  Like others, we have not heard anything from RC either.  It would be a major disappointment to have limited use of the balcony because of work in the Aqua Theater.

  12. Our DD has been cruising with us on Oasis class ships since she was 7 mos old and loves the nursery. Our last trip was this past Oct when she was 2 and still enjoyed it. They had fun toys and the staff was always really sweet. She also enjoyed the family play room as well. We have had nothing but good experiences with it.

  13. We did the research about this for our DD's (7 months old) first cruise this Oct and decided to go the passport route. They said that a BC is fine for getting on the ship, but if we needed to get home because of an emergency from one of the ports a passport would be required. It was $80 to get her a passport and we felt it was well worth the piece of mind.
