I jsut read that as of Aug. 1 that Internet packages are changing on Holland. Scroll up for a newer thread to get the latest.

In the past I have used my phone or Ipad off the ship's satellite and have had no additional charges from the ship and standard rates from my provider. I did not use the ship's internet package. Can anyone confirm that this is true on HAL? Still need to work.

I use What's App (free texting) and Skype to stay in touch. Works great when on wireless. We are new to HAL but on Oceania my phone automatically connected at sea to their wireless and was not charged. Someone on our last cruise told me I would be charged. They scared me so I went to look at the bill and all was good. Any advise for this time onboard HAL Norrdam?

We are travelling in Oct. 2015 on Noordam and would love to know passengers recent experience with the internet while on board. I have cruised on Oceania in recent years and been able to use the ship's hot spot at no charge. Look forward to hearing your experiences.
