  1. I have found everything better on carnival. I sailed RCL (which was double any carnival cruise i have taken)and wasn't impressed. The ship (freedom of the seas) was nice, but the service was awful, food was bad, and the entertainment was boring. Our server on the freedom of the seas was terrible. We sat there with empty water glasses for 20 minutes until he finally came, they skipped our table with the bread basket and once we were eating and our water glasses were again empty, it took forever to refill. We went to adjust our gratuities and they said we weren't allowed to do that. I know what to expect on carnival. Have I seen the cutbacks with carnival? sure, but I have also seen things that they improved on and spent money on as well.

  2. yes. happens ALL the time in Miami. I don't mind the FTTF program, just wish they would follow the procedure. The only port I have seen them do it right is at port Canaveral. My last cruise out of Miami, they called diamond and platinum, but because FTTF guests were also in the lounge, they joined the line. Not only does carnival need to follow the policy better, but people need to listen and follow the procedure as well

  3. Went on a 5 day western carribean on Paradise Aug 31

We were bored with a total lack of entertainment. Only two shows with the dancers. They were good. But the first show was country western them. We did not like that. The cruise director did a fantastic job of playing the fiddle just like Charlie Daniels. The other show was a revue of 50' to 70's It was amazing. That is the kind of show they should do every night. The other choices involved using the passengers. You get dressed up. Have a wonderful dinner. Then all you have to do is to go the main theater to watch on stage passengers learning how to dance. Awful! Hardly anything to do in the daytime.

If you don't drink heavy, gamble, smoke, shop or bingo you will be bored.

Bring something to do like cards or books. The lounge areas stay empty. Saw many passengers walking around bored. No discovery at sea programs, movies under the stars, ceramics, game shows, just bingo and art auctions and shopping.More stuff to entertain kids.

Food was alright. But not gourmet as it should be on a cruise. About like going to Golden Corral buffet. At the main dining room some food looked like it was throwed on the plate. Not attractively presented as should be.

Don't waste your money on this ship. Try Princess instead!

I 100% DISAGREE with you. I sailed the paradise in February, and was never bored. I don't drink heavy, gamble, smoke or play bingo and I hate shopping, but I always found something to do.

  4. We will be sailing on the Valor on the 29th. I have scoured cc and other sites for reviews. This is not our first cruise, it's the fifth so I probably should know better. It just amazes me how some many different people can be on the exact same cruise and have such varied opinions. Half give it 1 star. It was the worst experience ever, food was horrible, service horrible along with everything else. Then, the other half give it 5 stars. Best cruise ever, food, service and everything else outstanding.

I've decided a cruise is what you make of it. I've read horrible reviews on this ship and wonderful ones. I've decided to go with the mindset that I've not had a bad cruise yet and I certainly don't expect this one to be either:)

I no longer read reviews. some will nit pick on the smallest things (no soap in my room and that ruined my cruise lol). The last review I read was for rccl (it was my first rcl cruise at the time) I guess I set my expectations too high since everybody was saying how great it was, and I didn't think it was that great at all for the price I paid. Now I know better. I go with an open mind. not every cruise will be perfect, but it sure beats the heck out of going to work

  5. my brother and I both had something similar happen. We were both flight attendants and were Junior assigned (meaning we HAD to fly), I told my boss that we had this vacation planned AND it was all paid for. I told her, we will fly, but I want my money back from this vacation since everything is non refundable (airfare, hotel and cruise). I submitted my expense reports ($3000), we flew to Canada and then our plane broke down. my manager called me and said, they were sending my brother and I home for our vacation, and they will find somebody else to take the rest of the trip. The company didn't want to pay $3000.

Talk to your boss and let them know that it was originally approved. You can work, but demand that you want every penny of your vacation paid for

  6. I booked a cruise in early may for a June 1st sailing and was waitlisted for early dining. I didn't find out my dining assignment until the day of the cruise when I looked at my sail and sign card. is it possible to get what you want? yes, but it doesn't always happen. If you don't, just go to the mdr on embarkation day and they will try to help you out

  7. i like this idea personally. I never care, after I get up, that the steward makes my bed for the day, I could careless. bathrobes, we never use them and just taking up space in the closet, I never use ice in my room either. I do like the turn down service, but that's about it

  8. I would have been disappointed too, but it wouldn't ruin my cruise. I don't book a specific ship because of a waterslide either. Things break. I went to Noahs ark last year at the dells and one of their waterslides was down, I went to Disney world in January, splash mountain was down, I was disappointed, but definitely didn't ruin my vacation. some people
