You can blame it on the service dog!

They had the Diamond section on Grandeur on my last sailing before shutdown (Feb 20-28, 2020).  And yes, I enjoyed the complimentary specialty coffees.

P.S.  They had the 3 vouchers valid for select drinks during happy hour.

My service animal is a pig.

    ok okay !!!   It’s bacon

  2. I’m 65 so this is going back, but they would make a real caesar salad tableside

It was in a wooden bowl with Dijon mustard and anchovies.  Also baked Alaska.

I guess with the flames it is a no no today, but it was a nice end to a dining experience.

The maitre’d used to cut the protein (meat) dishes served to our daughters. The food in the main dining room was good. Now we don’t set foot in there. Times …they are

    a’ changing.

  3. At the Coco Beach Club there is a fee for each person. This is the upper scale beach area. Yes there are cabanas with a per day fee. But this includes 8 people !!
I think the per person fee is @ $223 per day. The children 3 and under for you would be free. Our “beach cabana” is $1999 for the day and an over water cabana would be

$3499.  A lot of money for either, but if you divide it amongst paying persons and getting 8 free passes if you book a cabana it’s not so bad.  Yes you can ASK your concierge aboard the ship to get cabanas next to each other. A good tip may insure that.

Hope all works out and enjoy the family on your cruise !

  4. Hope not sounding redundant, but IMO I think Oceania is an excellent choice.
We too used others RCCL, Celebrity etc when our daughters were children (we are now in our sixties), then went on to Oceania.  Bermuda is beautiful , it should still be warm

in September. The two ports are nice to have. Only caveat in September is that it is still hurricane season. Yes we have sailed at that time but kept our fingers crossed.

Definately try LaReserve dining experience, so special.

    wishing you safe travels !

  5. Agree that “The squeaky wheel gets the grease(the oil) and sometimes you have to seek a higher authority. Have traveled with RCCL and Celebrity a lot we ran into someone who said their room attendant used dual sided tape (thick)which worked surprisingly well!

Just some food for thought. Gm

  6. We were able to modify ALL of our dining reservations.

My only caveat to that is that we didn't pre-book any of the non complimentary restaurants and move them.

We have moved every other reservation, including adding Jamie's (when we were told in person that it was booked...).

Not that that answer helps with the dining package question. Just thought I'd add something like that ;)

Thank you both for your help. George

  7. The app is free for everything but messaging, so I'd say it's "worth it".

    Hi Bob,

Wondering if we could use Royal IQ app to book our dining package?

We booked a four night package, and I understand they assign you the first night, then you choose the rest? If I can't use the app where/who do I see once we board. Thanks very much in advance. :)

  8. Our daughters (ages 25 & 28) have always been permitted into the CL and to breakfast in Chops restaurant. Also upon check in you just queue up to the suite line. Never ever have we been questioned or challenged. If you had friends going into the CL, I could see the want to go there, but the other bars or venues on the ship are nicer. Yes the drinks for you as a grand suite passenger are free, but you're on vacation so splurge and go to the champagne lounge and get a drink! Hope you have a good time win you're family!
