All,
Thanks for the replies. Since we will be skipping the second formal night, and not the first, I'll make my specialty reservations for that Thursday. I'll check to see how the first formal nights plays out, dress-wise, and go from threre. But, most likely, we'll enjoy our evening at either Chops/Giovanni's. From the general tone, it seems like the khaki's and polos will not be horribly out of place.
Thanks,
Eric
Eric,
Keep in mind that the second formal night is also lobster night. I have been told that you can order lobster in the speciality restaurants.

If the dress code is not enforced why have a dress code? Personally, I would never dress beyond casual slacks, a shirt with a collar and shoes on a cruise but the rules state differently. It is somewhat annoyng that I carry an extra bag for the dress clothes when others arrive in the MDR in shorts and flipflops.
Is that how folks dress for a nice restaurant at home?

The Swizzle Inn on Bermuda. One of the very few restaurants on the island that does not automatically add an 18% tip. Therefore the service is okay. The drinks are great and the food is good. A fun place!
The Greenhouse on St. Thomas. Local fare, well prepared. we visit this place for lunch on every visit to the island.
Hint - whatever RCCL says about "recommended" jewelry stores be sure to shop and compare at the other stores. We found better merchandise and prices at stores that were not recommended. This was on St Thomas.

Cabin Number: 8670
Cruise Ship: Explorer of the Seas (Royal Caribbean)
Date of Cruise: February 2014
Bed Formation: king bed but could be converted into a twin.
Bath/Shower?: Shower only
Adjoining Cabin?: No
Balcony?: Yes
Comment on the Size of the Cabin: Spacious cabin with room around the sides of the bed.
Comment on any Noise Issues: Generally quiet. Could hear the neighbors occasionally, but this was because they were very loud.
Comment on Storage Space: Plenty of wardrobe space, although there was little drawer space. Shelves in the closet do help greatly with storage.
Comment on the Bathroom: As expected on a cruise ship. Could use updating.
Any Other Comments?: Paint chips all over the balcony and immediately inside the door. it is time for a refurbishing for this ship.
Would You Recommend this Cabin?: Yes, be advised it is a bit of a walk to the elevators & stairs.
