  1. Was in cabin V-9. I liked it..I have V-6 booked on the Inspiration for Nov 20th 2010. The balconys are very small. But since its a normal railing. I can sit in the chairs and hang my legs over the edge. Funny that people notice that when they walk by below my cabin.

Thanks for the pics and mention of balcony leg room. We're booked in that exact cabin next month. Both of us are tall and I was expecting the leg room on the balcony would be similar to sitting in a coach seat on an airplane. Good to know I won't be knocking my knees on railing and plexiglass.

  2. Thanks, again, for the V9 tour! I'm sure others are interested to see that category of cabin on the Fantasy, and it's hard to find pics of it. Fortunately, we got this cabin at a great price, so I'm not going to allow myself to sulk about the size of the balcony. :) Uh... and have I told you today where we are on our countdown?? 79! I can hardly stand myself. I swear, when we get down to less than 10 days, I'll have to medicate.

  3. Did you use a travel agent or go thru carnival?

thanks.. this will be our first time up from the Empress deck..would love to make it a great anniversary for her! thanks

I booked my upcoming cruise (Carnival Fantasy cat 11, cabin V9) through the cruise line because there are so few staterooms with balconies and I wanted to make sure I got the cabin I wanted. The only other time I had a balcony, I booked a "guaranteed balcony" through www.*****.com on Carnival Victory and had the good fortune to get the mack-daddy upgrade into a corner mini suite with the balcony that wraps around the back corner of the ship (cabin 6461). It was amazing. We expect that the suite we're booked in that I mentioned above will have a balcony about a tenth the size of the one we had on the Victory. Still, it's a balcony and I'm hooked on having a balcony. -- You'll have a great anniversary no matter what you book! Enjoy.:)

  4. It's nice to hear back from people on my posts.

A lot of times I answer questions, and never hear back from the people again, so thank you.

Also, if you haven't done so already, check out these pics...

There's a few of V21 and V19 specifically (although I couldn't tell you at this point which is which), but it will give you a really good idea on what to expect.

Thanks for the valuable info. I can hardly wait to go throught the secret door to take pics from the front of the ship! ~ Also, "Mischief Managed" cracked me up!

  5. All4fun&Fun4All... If you can swing it, I'm all for it! I've got another question that needs answering, and apparently, several people have wondered. How does the VIP embarkation work at the Charleston terminal? No one seems to know. There is a thread on that very issue, so when you come back, please let us know in that thread what the deal is. Also, rumor has it the terminal has been upgraded this year and people are interested in knowing what the upgrades are. You don't leave a car at the terminal, do you? We don't. We take a cab or have the neighbors drop us off.

  6. I've read all of the posts here, in hopes of finding something about the suites. I'm specifically interested in hearing from people who have sailed since the renovations. We're booked in September for a category 11 stateroom, which is a mini suite. I gather these suites are similar to a cabin we got upgraded into when we sailed on Carnival Victory in 2008 (cabin 6461). That cabin had an ENORMOUS balcony. I am fully aware of the fact our cat 11 on Fantasy has a tiny balcony, but what I'm eager to learn is whether the cabin itself compares equally to 6461 on Victory. I'd be thrilled if it is better. If anyone has any photos or comments about this category of suite, I'd appreciate it.
