The outside tour group says it will pick the tourists up from the FIRA PORT. I wonder if that means once I get off the tender boat, the bus is by the harbor? I do not have to take the cable car to Fira town in order to board the bus, right? Because if I have to, that means a long wait for the cable car, and other people in the same tour group might be even more delayed and hence the exact time to drive to Oia might be really delayed. Any input?

BTW, I think I saw somewhere one way to circumvent this cable car up is to join a tour that takes you from cruise tender port to Oia first ( by boat) so I  assume  you start with Oia and then come back to Fira which is closer to the ship's docking area. ? If there are tours like this, can someone give me their name . If we are not allowed to mention any names here, please let me know and I will give you my e mail so you you can send it to me. thanks 

Hello, I will be taking a cruise that stops at Santorini. Looks like there is a lot of concern about the tender, taking the bus up at Fira etc takes too long and a lot of people missed their booked tour ( outside company , not from cruise line). can someone with experience comment on this. ? How many hours after ship dock shoudl we book the tour ( to account for the tender, taking cable cars etc) I think the tour company has their own start times, I am not sure they would wait for us if it got delayed.

Hello, I hope I post in the right place. I am taking NCL Gem that ends at Trieste cruise termnal. It is supposed to dock at 6 am , and my flight from Venice Marco Polo airport leaves at 11am. I understand it takes about 2 hours to go from Trieste cruise terminal to Venice airport. I was wondering if anyone have gone on this cruise and can comment on how soon after the ship docks can we disembark. Do they disembark by " zones" and you are not allowed off if your zone is not called. I can book private transfer from Trieste to Venice airport. But I need to find out how long it takes to disembark to see if this is even doable. If I changed to any flight after 11 am, it involve long ( about 12 hours OVERNIGHT layover. Since I am travelling solo, I do not feel comfortable to stay
overnight in a hotel by myself, taking a taxi late at night to go to the hotel and next morning take another taxi before the sun rises  to go to airport again. 
If anyone has experience with NCL disembarkation process and time expectation, I would greatly appreciate if you would share the info. I really appreciate it. 

 

Hi, I have not travelled for a while, so I hope I am posting in the right place.I like to know how to go from Trieste port to Venice airport. Looks like there are no aiports in Trieste , so need to go to Venice to catch the airline home . . Other than the cruise provided transportation, is there any other =way. Reason why I am thinking of getting my own transportation. I am afraid it would be a long time after disembarkation ( 6 am) before the cruise lines buses to the airport leave. Right now, I have not decided on whether to use my own air. If I do, there are flights leaving from Venice to SF about 12 noon. I am afraid the cruise transportation would not arrive that early. Internet said it is 2 hours away, is that correct ? Also, how many people can fit in a taxi ( we have 5) and roughly how much would that cost ?

Hi, when I went to Mexico ( I think it is Cabo) about 2 yrs ago, I was able

to purchase telephone card that you insert into public telephone,and can

call back to US. Does anyone know if that is still the case? I want to

check up on my parents when I am there. My parents do not have e mail

. I do not have smart phone , and my cell phone does not have international

calling plan, so it would be kind of expensive for me to use my cell to

call back to US when I go to Mexico.

I happen to buy a couple of cards from if I remember right 2 yrs ago, would

those unused cards still work now ?

Hi, I had only seen nature tour to Chaco ruin, they run about $55-$65( cannot remember exact figure), does anyone happen to know of other

Hi, someone recommend me to try Discover Mexico . I googled the

internet,and I did not see admission price . Do you have to join a tour

to see this place ? I am interested in the culture part, but I do not drink

alcohol, I presume it is still worthwhile for me to visit ? I will be by myself,

just want to try to find some things to do to kill time while the rest of the

family go ATV, arriving Cozumel by Carnival.

Hi we are coming by Carnival Glory, my family is not joining a cruise's tour,

they are joining a local ATV tour. As I mentioned, I do not want to do ATV

I am also not particularly fond of water activities ( so do not prefer going to beach and stretch out there, or snorkel. swimming, parasailing etc) , if there are places around the cruise terminal to shop, or a garden or museum

not too far from the cruise terminal, I would be interested. Also, as I said,

we are doing mayan ruins in Costa Maya and tubing in Belize, so want to

find something different in Cozumel. If you can recommend a place or tour

name, I would greatly appreciate it.

HI, I will be coming to Cozumel. The rest of my family is going on ATV.

Because I have neck and back problem, I am hesitant to go on ATV as

I expect it to be bumpy. Is that correct?

What can you expect for me to do instead. I am not into water sports

( like swimming, beach, snorkel etc) . We will be going to Mayan ruin in

Costa Maya, so I do not plan to go on another maya ruin in Cozumel.

hi, thanks for the suggestion for Native Choice. I think I will go on that

one to Chacchoben Mayan ruins, but I don't think the teenagers would

enjoy that nor the food tour that Native choice offers. I think they want

something "active" like power boat, kayak, snorkel( maybe), parasailing etc. Is there any tours for the teenagers?

HI, I saw this internet site for Ocho rios tours, their pricing seems better

than another company . I was wondering if anyone has used it and can

give me some feedback . We have a family of 7, so the difference in price

adds up.

Also, we are taking the Carnival destiny cruse. Is it feasible to do

Dunn's river fall, sky explorer, bloodsled ride and river tubing for the

time the cruise is in port in Ocho Rios. Also, I am not that physically

fit, and is scared of height, would any of these activities not for me.

I do not really swim either. If it is not for me, perhaps the rest of the

family can go, and I will just do the activities that is appropriate for me.

I would really appreciate any feedback you can give me. Our whole family

does not get to go on vac together that much anymore, so I would like

to see that we have a memorable trip.

Hi, other than Breakers( which everyone seem to say is the best), which

other mansion would you go to Our cruise arrive on Fri, so I think

Kingscote and one other one ( I forgot the name ) is closed on weeday,

I think most people said either Marble House or Rosecliff, which one would

you choose, or you would choose something else.

Actually, I would really want to go to Green Topiarty, but I heard there is

no way I can get there if I do not have a car which I do not plan to drive

there, is that correct.

AFter seeing 2 mansions. what else would you do? Walk the Cliff walk

or go back to the pier area to look at something ?
