It's just up-sell and Maroons will pay it when if, you don't bid you will probably be offer it for free. The up grade bid is the cost of an upgrade anyway. They put a minimum on it which is unfair saying it is a bid. I should be able to bid $100. I just ignore them and get offers for free upgrades on ships that arent full anyway.

If you are in VA or another great Govt Medical unit you don't need it as VA will take care of expenses. Look at your Visa card and see what they cover. Mine covers a lot. If you have to be Medivac'd from a foreign countyr to US it may run $100,000.

There is soft serve on deck 12? I believe but it closes at night. No set time, wait in line or go to buffet.

Hope the victim survived and is ok. We were on Diamond Princess in S Korea and the Captain slid in so fast I thought we were going to ram the dock for sure but he stopped about 8 inches from it. Never used the Tugs either.

I go to disconnect with the world, leave my watch and cell phone at home and if you or someone in your family have an emergency the ship comm will get in touch with you. People ae afraid to disconnect because they might have to have a real conversation.

One can find coffee without the card but it may be packaged pre mix syrup base they add water to. Tastes like bilge water.

Katadyn makes a water filter bottle you can drink creek water and even Chinese spigot water out of. It has a filter (replaceable) in the center which filters, chlorine, germs and dirt. Have carried one for years and the only requirement is TSA makes you dump he water out. They will filter for at least 4 months and maybe a lot more, depends on the dirt content. Will attach by Caribiner to a backpack so you don't lose it. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FAW9Z18?psc=1

NO Visa reqd, I agree, been there several times. China Vietnam SE Asia are bad about it but they do it aboard ship to prevent a hassle but the Vietnamese came in military uniform which brought back some bad memories.

We departed Ft Lauderdale and no one was concerned about wine, coke or bottled water. I did hear someone say they kept their Magnum and hard liquor and when we were getting off we heard them paging the people. Suppose they gave it back.

Spent time on a ship. They vibrate and you may not hear much but if you're worried, take some earplugs.Go, have a good time and don't worry about noise. You are on vacation so if noise keeps you awake, eventually you'll get tired enough to fall asleep. I can now sleep through about anything except people sneaking around.

Nice Pics! We love Jamaican food and I thought it funny that Shrimp and rice was $6.00 yet it's the most abundant food along with chicken. I never carry a cell phone when going to a foreign country. Don't want anyone calling me.

We have Katadyne water bottles with a replaceable filter. Drank Chinese water through the filter and never got sick, was in 3 wrecks in 2 days in Bejing riding with Chinese Taxi drivers, but never threw up. Learned new Mandarin Swear words too.

On Princess Diamond people wore about everything but myself, having some decorum left, I wear a coat and tie my wife black pants, red silk blouse and a black coat. They take formal photos and you can buy them for a reasonable price so why not dress for it. It was fun meeting other people and watching all the fancy dresses.

The perks apply to any cruise booked or not and can be used for Tips, trips or trashy souvineirs. Funny I was answering the same time as you Pam.

So Sorry! Drinks have a tip added as bartenders do not get tipped out of the general kitty.

Gratuities are paid out of your bill. You need to check the pursers office every day for the balance and to see if it is correct. You may add to tips for anyone who gives you stellar service if you wish (I would reccommend the total ammount ot be 20%) Thats 5% above what you automatically pay. You may also take away any ammount of gratuity you wish but remember Stewards are paid on contract, make lwess than minimum wage and work very hard to please everyone. We have always been generous everywhere we go and it comes back to you 2 X. You cant outgive GOD either!

Didnt see the answer on here but: Yes, the receptacles are 110 Volt US type and 2 or 3 prong will fit as the round prong is a ground wire and I highly reccommend you have it so if something goes wrong with a cord, charger, tool, etc., it will ground back to the ship and not through your body 1st. 110 V hurts and could do you in.

By now you should have these memorized. We go to at least one city and get lost just for fun, no , not really. We do go and see what kind of adventure we can get into on our own. We arent afraid to get ourselves lost. I've made it back so far.

Ours had to be the final act on NCL Sky when the whole troupe played a Roman fountain, complete with water pitchers. We got a huge laugh out of them but you gotta see it yourself.

I love snotty, dark yellow runny eggs from our chickens because they scratch in the cow manure all day and pick the pieces of grain out of it.
I hate avacadoes , slimy like baby excrement, cooked spinach, and most olives except the fresh ones stuffed in Italy. I'd be glad to eat them in front of the first poster , forgot his handle.

Xtra electrical recptacle under TV plate where cord runs, not sure where on NCL but Princess has them.
