  1. Hi! It’s ok to feel like that. My son is twelve and only my parents or my sisters have ever watched him! We go on vacation and have gone on three cruises with him. He hasn’t spent much time at the kids clubs at all. Only on the Disney cruise did he ask to go. ( his cousins were on that one ) Maybe because he’s an only he was able to find ways to entertain himself action figures or electronics. Lots of time at the spray area. He’s toured many Caribbean islands and has visited South America. He’s a seasoned traveler. We found that the nighttime issue was solved by having a balcony. Our first cruise he was still in a stroller so we just rolled him all over he ship as he slept. ( he’s a sound sleeper!) The next time he was older and no stroller so when he had enough we’d go back to the room put him to sleep and hang out on the balcony pizza and wine!! We’ve never vacationed without him outside of a random night in the city. This time he’s older without his cousins and really into video games so I wonder if he will want to spend time in the older kids club or will he be happy chilling with us! It’s all about how you want it to go, there’s no right or wrong way but if you train them young , you’ll have great traveling companions!

  2. The DW, kids, and I get all prettied up for formal night. We don't get to do it often so we take the opportunity to do so. Only get to put the suit on for a few occasions and 1 of them isn't joyous.

I think it's respect. Respect for rules and others. If I didn't have the attire, I would hit the buffet. That's just me. But don't let it ruin your evening. People gonna do what they gonna do and all the fussing isn't going to make your cruise any better.

We tell our kids to respect the rules but question authority.......all while driving 70mph in a 60mph zone. We all have our set of rules we choose to follow.

I also love getting dressed up, love seeing my hubby and son looking fancy! My only complaint about this is that when rules aren’t enforced it gives my hubby and son ideas. First elegant night with son both in slacks long sleeve shirts and ties ( gorgeous). This last cruise no ties, hubby wore short sleeve shirt [emoji849] son had no choice but to wear long sleeve but left his bow tie in room. I’m fighting a losing battle [emoji30]. Afraid of what they’ll wear on our next cruise. As long as we look good other people truly don’t bother me, but I definitely think that rules should be enforced!! 3. Thanks so much!!! For clearing that up.

I think I used the card once since last year when I got it. I don't travel enough for points just interested in the luggage benefit.

  4. I did a quick search, and didn't find the answer. I did not use my delta card to book flights or my cruise, is there anyway I can still get the free luggage benefit? Or who do I call to get this answer. My DH booked flights and didn't think to do this !!!

  5. You can prepay and your TA can do this for you if you wish, or the grats will just be added to your ship charging account daily, and will be taken when you settle your final bill on debark day.

    Either way works fine :)

Thanks so much! Want to get it done so we "have more $$$ " to spend on board ! :)

  6. Don't want to start drama I know how inflammatory this topic is. I just have a question. When do we prepay gratuity? First time cruising Disney and first time using TA. Were we supposed to do it when we originally booked cruise or when we check in at port? We've only cruised carnival and have included it in our final payment. Thanks.

  7. The other little known secret was you could bring your small kids to the SH, and just eat sides, and they wouldn't charge you.

But, alas, we now have kids that are big steak and lobster eaters.

3 years ago we had our 7 year old in the steakhouse. This kid refused the kids menu! He was well behaved and ate everything (with a little help). There were other families in there at the time, but the loudest person was a woman complaining about her free wine [emoji16]

  8. Ok so I had an episode (panic attack) that landed me in er and consequently holter monitor for 24 hours and then eventually the 30 day one. But rest assured I had every cardiac test under the sun before I was given the 30 day one. No one was dropping dead! Turned out to be a panic attack! And yes a vacation would've done me good at that point. Also nothing a little Xanax couldn't help! :) definitely get Drs advice but I don't think you'd need to wear it during vacation. I developed a reaction to the leads and ended up cutting the monitoring short. Same results!

  9. Awesome info! I was thinking the same about the kids table. We do have kids that range in age from 3-13 so I wouldn't trust the little ones! I guess we set that up on embarkation day with the maitre d ? Thanks so much!

  10. We are a huge group traveling on the fantasy. Right now we are 12 adults

11 kids plus two babies, possibly adding 3 more adults 1 more child and baby. Has anyone had a group this big and can tell me about how dinner worked? We plan on eating together most nights. Last time we went as a big party was 2005 before all the kids!!

  11. We were on the splendor the first night my DH actual birthday we ate at the pinnacle they bought out a cake with a candle. A few nights later our waiters asked me if they could sing happy bday to him since they had missed his bday. Have no idea how they knew this! Out came another big piece of cake with candles! He did get a nice card from our room guy don't recall any coupons though.
