  1. Has any one any experience of what is included in the Stateroom bar set up ?

I know the different type of drink supplied but cannot find size .

Are they miniatures say x 6 ........... or one 70cl bottle. We are not on a drinks package so are they good value?

    Many thanks.

  3. TO HASSOP,

Lol, Yes LSIMON (Larry) has a HUGE CAPACITY for patience ... and he is a wealth of knowledge... he was a god-send to me when I planned our cruise (he has some great stuff linked in his Signature Block here on CC that gives a ton of valuable info to those of us who LOVE to Eat & Drink... check it out)

The 2012 Corkage Fee is $ 25 per bottle, no matter what venue on the Ship one takes the bottle to (a wine bottle that one brought aboard on Embarkation Day)

BTW, I am fresh off the Solstice (January 15th Sailing) and there is a NEW Fleet Wide Wine List that has just come into effect (Celebrity's 2012 Wine List) I am in the midst of transcribing it (it is very very long)... and will be posting it on the CC CELEBRITY BOARD shortly... look for it... it has a ton of great info for Wine Lovers... and lists info as well on what Wines are available by the Glass, and what they cost per pour... very helpful for anyone considering the Alcoholic Beverage Packages.

    Happy sailing !!

    Cheers!

Been following your posts with interest............ and waiting for you to complete your long task. Have already ordered one or two bottles but will be interested to see the recent listings; have decided against the packages for us.

Re -the Champagne even paying corkage it will be cheaper to carry on:D

  4. There is no corkage for bottles of wine purchased through Celebrity no matter how they are purchased (gifts, packages, etc.) Wine ordered as a gift through Celebrity can be taken, or sent, to the dining room if you'd prefer to enjoy it there - your cabin steward will take care of it for you if you give it to him earlier in the day or you can take it with you or drop it off.

Simon............... your capacity for patience is unlimited............we have a saying here in the U.K about ' heads and brick walls' all I can say is your wall must have more dents than bricks  lol

Please do you have a price (in your fount of knowledge)

for corkage charges in the speciality restaurants. We hope to take 2x Champagne on board (for a special event) rather than pay Celebrity prices....very grateful for all your helpful replies.

    Reagrds ............H

  5. I am trying to decide if the Classic alcohol package would work for me: I like freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast, maybe cranberry juice. By the pool I like a frozen drink or two or a corona and a couple of glasses of chardonnay with dinner. I also like bottled water (doesn't have to be fancy). Are these covered in the classic package. Is $8.00 the limit on drinks? I saw the beverage list (from 2010). Are those prices still valid? Thanks so much. I leave for my cruise on Jan. 28.

    Well .....

We like a drink before dinner :o:

    and then wine with.... ;)

afterwards perhaps whilst in the show

DH likes soft drinks during the day and water for both of us

so really it was a 'no brainer'.:D

(We had originally ordered the wine as gifts, we usually share one a night)

    Regards...... H

  6. Yep.

It would appear that Celebrity is pulling off a nice cash influx as a result of this sale... as in BIG bucks!! (of course, the credit card companies aren't doing too bad either... a percent or two here and there - it's the American way ;) )

    Tom

Suits us ........:D We had already booked packages so cancelled............ re-booked and saved over £150...............regards H

  7. Our friends had the classic package and they could get all those drinks you've mentioned (apart from I'm not familiar with that wine you mention). The Martinis are $10 but you can get smaller ones on the classic package; the same size they use for the Martini flights. That way, you can try many more. I had that size even though I had the premium package as the full size ones were far too strong for me, if I wanted to walk in a straight line to dinner that is!

If you roughly add up your usual daily drinks from the drinks prices someone's kindly posted, then you can roughly work out if it's worth it for you. Don't forget to include water, coffees etc. Bear in mind that after a few days of having all these lovely drinks, the novelty wears off and water suddenly tastes like nectar :D.

Sounds like you had a great  time .................De Dah:D Or an incomer?

    Seriously though would we be right in thinking ;

that you get your glass at dinner refilled as often on the package as you would if you had the bottle in front of you ?

As we usually go for the odd G&T (or 3)and 1 bottle of wine we are reconsidering the whole package 'mullarky'. As you say you deffo drink more than you would if you were paying drink by drink.

If you're thinking of ordering yourself gift bottles of wine ahead of time then you might want to wait until you are on the ship. The prices are the same (at least in dollars) and there is a much wider selection of wines available on the ship than there is through the gift selection. I have copies of several on board wine lists on my web site - links are on this page: http://lfsimon.home.comcast.net/~lfsimon/cruiselinks.htm

    LSimon :D

Thanks for the prompt answer , just what I needed to know, will certainly help with the planning off to peruse your link now.....I presume the 15% is added later

    Thanks again H

  9. If you pay to go there is only a slip to sign. There is no form to fill out and you never need to worry about tipping as there is a 15% service charge included on every bill - unless you have such great service that you feel a need to tip extra - but that is the case with the prepaid package as well.

I believe with the premium package ALL beers are included. Drinks with spirits and wine have a $12 menu price cap. This covers most items except for high end spirits such as upper end single malts, cognacs etc. On the wine end most champagnes by the glass will be over the limit but they'll have some other sparkling wines included and possibly one champagne.

The welcome aboard champagne is a complimentary glass of sparkling wine passed out right as you board - it is a welcome aboard drink and not a meet and greet.

The biggest exclusions are that there is no room service included, no mini bar (in cabin) purchases, no bottles of wine (only wine by the glass), and there is one bar (Cellar masters) where most of the wine available is from special vending machines and those are not included.

Hi there .........hope someone can help with this one; have posted it without reply on other links.

My question is.....in the pre cruise info it states you can purchase bottles of wine as ? gifts etc. Can these then be sent to the dining room and if so is there a corkage charge ?

Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated........ as we are mainly wine drinkers with the odd G&T , so a package would prove expensive but at current prices 12 bottles of wine works out at roughly £250. depending on choice.
