  1. Following the original question of how long should a video be.....?

With a cruise group that had many things going on, many excursions together etc...... I find a seven night cruise video for that group can be 30 minutes long. But, the length of a video scene has to be kept short ( under 10 seconds) unless it's necessary for an action scene.

It's been awhile since I did a cruise video. These days I have been making videos of land tours in Europe. Much more interesting scenes to film in Europe than on a ship or the same old Caribbean Islands that we visited over and over and over.

Bottom line..... it's your target audience that matters most. People who were not involved or there have little interest in watching your videos. IMO.:)

  2. Good News! With some luck they are discovering that DD is a terrible idea. Maybe I won't end up finding another cruise line after all.

They were my favorite for a lot of years but I recognized the changes that would be made all the way back to when they put a surcharge on Johnny Rockets. Saw it coming. :( However, wherever you go, you can't really escape it.

  3. We will be cruising on the MSC Preziosa, departing from Marseille following a trip to London and Paris. It will be seven nights in ports we have yet to have been to with the exception of Naples. So we will see Genoa, Messina, La Goulette, Tunisia, and Barcelona as well as our departing city of Marseille.

A new adventure for sure. Last time was 12 days with Princess so language was not a problem for us then.

  4. This is "OUR COUNTRY" and we've been cruising on Royal Caribbean for the past ten years with the Mixed Nutz Cruise Group est 2003.

This is one segment of a feature film made of our Allure Cruise.

  5. I am interested in booking Alaska for 2014, maybe 2015, so I guess I should start looking at availability. We have also cruised in cabin #9256 so we are well aware of the view!

I am particularly interested in all the little details and I will be watching your review closely. I also book some trips more than 2 years in advance and am myself a little OCD about the details and I am the one friends and coworkers come to for the little extra inside tips I've picked up along the way.

HOWEVER, you got me on the packing. I am most interested in this as we are doing our third Mediterranean trip and have yet been able to pack correctly!. We will be doing an 8 London and Paris land tour followed by a 7 day cruise plus the travel time involved. We had cruised with one couple that packed nothing but lightweight clothing that was washable and fast drying. All the clothes were rolled and packed. Still, needing hiking boots, sneakers and dress shoes for dinner make this impossible for me. Not to mention the toiletries. Every trip I promise myself I'm going to do better for the next but it just doesn't happen! LOL I will take any suggestions.

Looking forward to all of your review, Carol

  6. If you are on a cruise, I'd highly recommend taking a ship excursion. Traffic in Rome can be tricky, and you don't have any time for things to go wrong. Sign up for an excursion and enjoy the ride. ~

    The very best advice!

  7. Tatka, we have just booked our first MSC med. cruise also.

I expect it to be different from what we are used to but we booked knowing that. It will be 7 days of relaxing after a land based tour. We choose it not because of the pricing , which was comparable, but it was doing the right ports and the right dates we needed to connect from land to cruise.

I prefer to make up my own mind. Im sure it can not be horrible or people wouldnt be booking and going on them more than once. We are going on the new Preziosa in Septemer.

The one thing I do not enjoy about CC is just how rude some of the replies are that are posted. Its suppose to be a friendly forum

    Geez...Carol
