I am scheduled for the Vista on 1/29. We are considering if we want to go forward. It's a tough decision

Great review. We sail this Saturday on the ship. I can't wait

We are staying at the Country Inn suites which is located by the airport. They have a free shuttle. We arrive at 10:50pm the night before our cruise. The front desk stated to call them when we arriveand they will be there to pick us within 20-30 minutes. Most likely we will just take a taxi due to the late hour but at least there is an option for free shuttleif we chose to use it.

Thank you for the feedback ms411.

Thank you for this information. I will be in St. Thomas 2/13/18. I'm still looking for excursions.

Is anyone familiar with this company? I like that they offer tours outside of just going to the beach.
If you have gone on one of their tours, what was your experience. Also did you book the all-inclusive option?
My husband and I enjoy island tours and learning about history.

I used Galveston Limo for a private transfer from Houston Hobby to our pre-cruise hotel in Galveston.
For our return, we used the shuttle provided by Carnival.
-
Are you asking for the shared shuttle or the private transfer?
I took the private transfer from Houston Hobby to our pre-cruise hotel in Galveston. We had no issues at all.
The baggage for the private transfer was 2 bags per person.

I wish there was an elegant dining roomand a casual dining room offering the same menu. There are times when I do notwant to dress up for elegant night but I also do not want the buffet either.
I dress up enough for work 5 days a week. On vacation, I prefer to keep on jeans/shorts and a basic top.

I typically relax on sea days becauseour port days are busy. My last cruise had 3 port days in a row. We were happyto finally have an “off” day during the cruise. It’s pretty sweet not having tobe on a schedule.
With thatbeing said, I would love some new sea day activities.

I tried while we were waiting for the port to reopen due to the fog in Galveston. I wanted to show my friends how bad it was. Unfortunately, FB live didn't work using the social media package.

I was on the January7, 2017 Freedom sailing. The steward asked if we wanted morning or evening service. He never said there was an option for both, although I knew there was. I toldhim we needed morning service only. My friends traveling with us were in acabin down the hall and had the same steward. They asked for AM and PM. Thesteward told her she could only pick one. She informed him that was not trueand he relented.
I must admit he was theworst room steward I have ever had. When we arrived to our cabin there was hairin the drawer where the blow dryer was housed. Hair and crumbs in the drawerthat housed the menu and paper documents. A beer bottle in the cabinet and a chargerin the bathroom on the upper glass shelf. We didn’t arrive to our room until3ish so it was well pass the “cabin ready” time.

I booked a private tour with Victor Bodden. I’m wondering if I should wear my sandals or sneakers when visiting Sherman Arch Iguana Preserve and Carambola Botanical Garden. My sandals are Teva hiking Sandals but they are open-toed. I wanted to know if this is recommended when visiting these parks. Thanks

We are staying at Four Points by Sheraton on Seawall in Galveston, TX. Are cabs and Ubers allowed to pick up from the hotels and drop passengers off at the port? If so, can anyone recommend a taxi company?

So no more tape, huh? What are you supposed to do if the doors aren't magnetic?
We typically tape everything on with regular ol' Scotch tape and I make sure to clean wherever the tape was REALLY good after we take everything down to make sure there isn't any residue left.
Carnival allows the use of Command Strips. Perhaps you can use those instead of tape?

We are considering the all inclusive option. I just want to make sure there are umbrellas to use with the loungers.
-
Are there umbrellas available at Mr. Sanchos? If not, are there any other beach clubs with umbrella rentals. I am not a fan of relaxing in direct sunlight.
-
Another question, what are the open container liquor laws? Can I walk around a frozen liquor drink or is that frowned upon.

I am considering going to Caye Caulker for the day while in Belize. My ship is the Carnival Freedom, scheduled to be in port 8a-5p. I have a couple of questions:
Do you recommend we use Coral Breezes or should we just take a water taxi on our own?
If we use the water taxi on our own, how far from the cruise port is it?
What is there to do in Caye Caulker? Are there any points of interest or must sees?
Can you recommend any restaurants or beach bars? I love trying local food when visiting other countries.
If you have any additional information about Caye Caulker, please share.

In my opinion, it depends on what you like to do during the cruise. On my last cruise we had a cabin on the Lido deck. We rarely spent time on the Lido deck so it was not worth the upcharge. Most of our time is spent on the Lobby, Atlantic or Promenade decks.

Thanks. We are hoping the noise level from the theater is tolerable.
-
What are the time parameters for morning or evening service? On sea days we enjoy sleeping late. If we pick morning and decide to lot leave the cabin until noon, will we miss having our room serviced for the day?
-
We are booked in an ocean view room on the main deck on Carnival Freedom. The cabin is 2271. It appears that we are right under the main lounge. If you have experience with this location how is the noise from the main lounge?

This is great news. We were going to bring back some Havana Club but the liquor policy was not appealing. I bet they lost a lot of liquor sales because of it.
Carnival is now allowing cancellations past January14th

We decided to wait another week and see how this goes. This isn't the most expensive vacation but I still don't want to feel like I wasted my money. Everything from the cruise to the fights were dirt cheap. However, I want the most bang for my buck.
